Guacamole as my salad dressing

I went to our local Mexican restaurant for lunch today.  They serve an excellent grilled chicken salad, extremely lean, no cheese, and lots of veggies. 

I decided to order pico de gallo and guacamole instead of a dressing.  They serve a half cup portion of guac (avocado, lime juice, tomato, cilantro, onion, garlic, and jalapenos)and a half cup portion of pico.  This cup of goodies added less than 200 calories to my salad and I reaped the benefits of that wonderful cilantro flavor and the heart healthy fat in guac.

I'm proud to say I didn't eat a single chip, I was not tempted at all!!!Laughing That felt great!

Anyone else have a creative way to dress your salad or work your favorite flavors into your healthy entrees?  I'd love to hear from you!  Success in overcoming your weaknesses?

One of my favourite salad dressings is to mix a teaspoon of pesto sauce into a tablespoon or two of plain yoghurt.  The pesto flavour is quite strong and the yoghurt gives it a creamy mouthfeel.  I add it to cooked chicken and use to fill pitta pockets or mix it into cooked pasta and grilled vegetables as a salad.  Also good as a dip  ...  Less than 50 calories.

I do the exact same thing: pico de gallo or any type of salsa is the perfect dressing to me. Anything with cilantro and lime really
