I know some people are totally turned off by hot dogs but, I like em.

I've found what I could call a super dog. Tongue out

Ball Park Bun length turkey dog. 45 calories! wow! I was shocked. I had been having the big statium style turkey dog that were 110 cal.  I'm really impressed. 100 cal. hot dog bun 45 cal. dog. I can actually have some chips with this and still be under 300 cal.!

I'm just passing along my find. With it being hot dog season here it's a good alternative to save you at your next bbq.

Oh, please tell me you are not teasing me, besides cheese, my other passion is hot dogs( olives, smoked oysters) without bread but I thought they had such a high cal. count. I am going to buy ball turkey dogs.. thank you!

I am def going to check them out!! thanks for letting us know!!!

Just asking... can they be cooked in the mircowave by any chance?? I'll be in a dorm in august so that's why im wondering. thanks!!

they (Ball Park) makes a fat free hot dog (not made with turkey) it's about 50 calories.  It's nice as a change up with baked beans ... mmmm, yummmmm.

edit: whatv- you can nuke anything.  the tatse may be funky, but, it is a hot dog : )

I always cook hot dogs in the microwave.  Waaaay too lazy to use anything else, lol.

You can also try Light Life veggie dogs. They taste like real hot dogs, and the small ones are 45 calories, jumbo ones are 80 calories. The protein in it is 8 g for the small, 16 g for the big I think.

Pssht, you can cook ANYTHING in the microwave haha. [well, almost.]
I'll be dorming in the fall too & I've gradually been making sure the microwave is my best friend. Lots of experimenting while I still have the full kitchen here =]

To get that moist taste that you get from boiling but the quickness of a microwave, just put the hotdog in a dish of water a nuke it for about 2-3 minutes until hot.

I'll take it out of the water, put it on the bun and put the whole thing in a plastic baggie for a minute or two and let it steam a bit, it makes it nice and soft, kinda like you get at the ballpark.

I also recommend the Johnsonville Turkey Cheddar Sausages.  They are more like 140 calories, but they are huge, and hot-doggy AND cheesy.  worth it :)

Wow shandykat!  I don't know what kind of microwave you have, but if I put a hot dog, even in water, in my microwave for 3 minutes and then another 2 it would explode.  Though my microwave is the best, if popcorn calls for 1.5 minutes, I can only do a minute.

I also like the fat free ball parks, but they do still have a funny taste so I just slab on extra mustard.  Also, I use my 40 cal bread in place of the bun so I can have light chips and some baked beans for around 300 cal.
lol...no no!  It would explode in mine too if I put it back in for another 2 minutes!  What I meant was to just let it sit in the baggie on the counter to steam.  I didn't mean to put it back in the microwave!

Sorry!  I hope nobody had an accident on their hands due to my poor communication skills!

And mine is the same with popcorn.  The large bags that call for 4 minutes I usually stop after 2 or 2 and a half minutes.
Ohhhhhhh, he  he he...roflmao.  I can tell it's Friday, the image of the exploding hot dog is just too funny for some reason, cleaning it up is another story.
