Don't you just hate the rain?

Actually I don't... but it really sucks for working out!! I've gotten so used to exercising outside that all this rain is really putting a "damper" on my routine. I woke up a little early this morning to get some activity in before work and it was pouring! I hate the gym so I just went back to bed... I guess today will just be a rest day!

tell me about it. & i live in ireland, no escape. last 'summer' (yeah right) we had 49 consecutive days of rain. then it would stop for one day & start all over again. it was the pits, i thought i was going to go postal on everyone!

Oh that is horrible!!! I guess thats why Ireland is so green! ;)

I guess living in england I know that exercising outside is to unpredictable to plan a routine so I excercise indoors and go out when I get the chance.

I do love watching a good thunderstorm though.

"Rain"? What is this "rain" you speak of? It is unknown to us.

Ohh quit bragging!   Tongue out  I used to be one of those braggers too, I lived in So Calif...then I moved to Louisiana of all places!   We get more rain in a month (sometimes in a week!) than So Cal would all year!

Though I do love a good thunderstorm, it does make going for a walk or riding the horses a challenge unless you don't mind getting wet occasionally.

Oh, I love the rain, especially at night. I think it's so relaxing and helps me sleep.

Now, if it rains in the morning and the sun comes out in the afternoon...ooo I hate that more than just about anything, so hot, so humid, it's just so oppressive I can't even get a full breath of air in.

Yellsomeone is cruising for a bruising!!!! Wink

im from so. cal & it bugs the crap out of me here. i need SUN! we are so outta here once we get things sorted.

EDIT: but i did have a nice little mini marathon run last year when it was lightly drizzling. didn't realize it would turn into one of the wettest summers ever here.

Nope I love the RAIN!!! I LOVE running in it.  I feel like a little kid again.  When it rains hard and I am soaking wet I even jump in the puddles.

Oh, I've definitly done the jump in puddles thing. :)

Obviously you've never experienced a drought.

I saw the title of your journal entry.

"Thoughts are things."

Get over yourself.

I'm with leslee and smartjock - I love the rain.  I too love running in it. It's refreshing and the shower after that run is the best.  And there's nothing like sitting on the porch and watching an afternoon thunderstorm roll in from the west.

I haaaate rain.

I don't have a driver's license so I get around by bike or on foot and it seriously sucks if you get to college/job drenched every day, then sit there for hours in wet clothes, leave just when you start getting a bit more dry.. then get completely wet again!

On top of that I only exercise outside - hiking, cycling, running, footbag, rollerblading. I only do stretching and rope jumping at home and I really miss most of my exercise on rainy days.

I just got back from cycling to a hill that is 30 minutes away and just when I climbed to 3/4, it started to thunder. Luckily it only started raining just as I stepped through my front door Cool

I love the rain! I just don't like the flooding that comes with it. : P
As long as there's no lightning, I enjoy riding in the rain. I did a 75-mile ride when the remnants of Floyd swept through town--a warm, rainy five-hour ride.

It builds character. :-)

Me, too. Maybe because I grew up running in Virginia, and nothing is better than running in the rain when all you've had for days is endless heat and humidity. I even like running in the rain in Wisconsin, now, although we'll see how I feel about those late Nov/early Dec "rains" that come when it is 33 degrees out. . .

And I love thunderstorms, too, although we don't get enough of them here, in my opinion!
