so last time I weighed myself a was about 122....I'd like to be down around 119-120, my scale said that last week but then went back up to 122ish which I understand fluctuations water weight and all that...I have been eating below about 1670 calories a day for the past week and a half averaging around 1450 on most days but always staying below my target...my concern isn't so much the scale went up a little it's the fact that I don't FEEL like I've lost any weight but I feel like I've gained
I work out 7 days a week, most days 2 x's a day..I do around an hour of cardio a day and weight train 5 days a week I spin, do yoga and pilates so I feel like a drop in calories would be depriving my body or am I wrong? I just want to FEEL like this is working![]()
Maybe you need to raise your calories. a 3 lb difference really isn't a big deal which is probably why most haven't responded. What is your deficit?
yeah..probably...I feel like most on here don't like girls like myself..but no one knows the lifestyle change I had to make and the majority of the weight I lost I lost before joining this site and I joined for support for losing a last few..so thank you..I just wanna feel things working!
right now I set myself as "light activity" because I feel sedentary is too little because I'm 19 and I am on my feet at work all day and generally active as well as working out as much as I do plus last I had my body fat done 2 weeks ago and I was at 17%..so at light activity it's at 1890 burn...my BMR is 1320 and I burn anywhere between 350-900 cals/day averaging around 650-700
should I really raise above 1700?
I am trying to lose the last 5 pounds, and I am in the same boat. I think because we workout a lot, our activity level is higher than we think. I am going to try upping my calories to 1800 a day, more if I do a really hardcore workout.
I also changed my activity level to "light activity". Being sedentary really means laying around all day, and even having a desk job I am walking around the office and stuff.
I would try keeping your deficits small, like 250-300 cal deficits each day. Eat more fat, healthy fat, like olive oil and nuts.
Hello I read your post and have some ideas that might help you achieve your goal as well as explain some things on why.
If you arent seeing weight results then its due to a few things.
1. Your body has settled in on protecting itself and to change it you have to tell your mind you arent starving the body. One solution is alternate your calorie intake over a 3 day span then start the process over heres an example...if your daily calorie intake should be 2000 (to loose 1 lb a week) then do this
day 1, 1900 calories
day 2, 2000 calories
day 3, 2100 calories
the overall 2000 calories is still maintained yet your body believes hey I am ok...do this over and over till you break the cycle....also another trick people use is when you first get up in the morning...the very first thing...drink a cold glass of water...its suggested this kicks a persons metabolism in gear...
BTW if you exercise more it may be adding to your problem so dont do more...the influx of the gain could be the increase in muscle from all the working out.
I am in exactly the same situation as although 20 yrs older!! my daily calorie intake is around 1100 - 1600 and I am stuffed after all that, I do at least 1hr of cardio / weights daily. I only want to loose 5kg I'm not huge, its just a bit left over from having 2 kids, most of which I lost 2yrs ago, but nothing is shifting. It seems really weird to eat more to lose, but is that really what you are telling us to do?
thanks for the help
I will trying upping my calories a bit and after this weekend(I'm supposed to be going out of town ahhhhh) I will try the three day routine suggested and see if that helps! Thanks again!
No problem...the method is called "zig - zagging" and here is a link that discusses the process...I personally have tried it when I wanted to cut the plateau...it does work.

You are definately NOT light activity. Change it to moderate activity and see how many calories you should be eating. Good luck!
