Never knew losing weight could be so intense!

Quote  |  Reply

So, I am not a health nut or anything but as I am reading through some of these posts are intense. Going from calorie deficit to the food ratio and then to artificial sweeteners. AWAIHFOAHVQHEFOQIF!~!!!! my head explodes trying to keep up with all of this. Seriously, I thought if you eat less and healthy along with good cardio/weights you will lose weight.

I don't think I will ever be as intense as some people but props to you guys who do.

Thank you for reading. Have a good day.

Hi ya there

Basically I eat ALOT better than I used to, I exercise at least 3 times a week for about 30-45 minutes each time and that's about it!  I've lost over 100 lbs so far.

I dont pay attention to ratios and I do use artifical sweetners.

:)

thank you. I need to lose about 80lbs and have currently lost 12lbs. You are my inspiration

P.S. You look AMAZING!!! CONGRATS!

Before I found this site I got into the science of weight loss - that 3500 calories more burned then eaten would drop a pound. By knowing what goes in and what goes out you have one more arrow in the quiver to get rid of your extra 80. Good luck!

You take things slow,  learn one new habit a week or give up one bad habit a week.

This does not come over night.  It just seems to add up and before you know it you are doing these things without thinking of it.

Skip the artificial sweeteners all together; those things taste worse than an old gym sock.

Sadly, though, this means you'll have to give up sugar altogether; at least I did. I cheat from time to time though.

I say:  don't over-think anything!  Stick to the basics, make healthy choices, don't deprive yourself, be active and get some exercise, and you'll continue to do great.  80 will be gone before you know it, seriously.  I've lost 85 and have about 25 more to go.

Once you start making the small changes - they will feel so good you might look for more changes to make! Don't be afraid to try new things suggested on here - but don't feel obligated to either.  It can certainly be overwhelming!

You've got the right idea - eat less if you're eating too much - eat healthier - feed your body well. And stick to your cardio & weights!

Best advice: Choose methods you can stick to! And then stick to them! Lifestyle changes are the best way to lose your weight and be healthy!

Thanks so much for your comment.  Really made my whole week!

When you see the #'s go down (either on scale or tape measure) it'll give you more and more motivation to keep on track!  One rule of thumb I live by.....when you eat dinner, make sure your dinner plate is at least half full of  veggies.  They really fill you up and there's so many to choose from!!!!  I recently found a new love....BAKED CAULIFLOWER with onions and garlic! OMG...thanks to another CC member!Laughing

Don't worry TOO much about the details at this point, you already have the most important points covered: eat small portions of healthy food, exercise and lift weights - that's 99% of what you need to know.

Oh yeah, drink lots of water as well :)

NICE WORK losing 12lbs already!!!! Good for you!!

Topanga--  You are doing great! Getting started is one of the hardest parts.. and you've already lost 12 pounds.

I try my best to eat well and don't really worry about ratios.  And for what it's worth, I try to get an A analysis on my diet log.  I'm not sure what it means, but it makes me feel good to get an A.  Along with exercise, it's helped me lose 30 pounds so far!

MAN!!! Thanks guys! ya'll really made me feel better about things.

Yea, I HAVE to take it slow because my previous diet was like 5-10 Dr. Pepper's A DAY along with fast food for every meal. So to me, just don't getting fast food and eating food at home (wheter processed or not) and drinking crystal light is HUGE!!!!

So thanks again so very much. GOOD LUCK TO YA'LL

Just ditching the soda and crap food will do wonders for you, both in how you look and how you feel.

Wow, Haley. You really did an excellent job with the weight loss. The difference in the before and after pictures for the 75 pound mark is HUGE. Very very well done. You look absolutely beautiful. I have 110 pounds to lose and I'm looking forward to looking as lovely as you do now!
