What's the most you've ever lost in a week?

Mine biggest weekly weight loss was my first week of trying to lose weight, about 3 months after having my son. I'm 5'6" and at the time, I was 175lbs. I cut my calories to 1500/day and was breastfeeding at the time as well. I've never lost that much since - just that first week (mostly water weight I suspect).

The first week or so of a new diet are always the biggest loss, especially if you've gone from eating a lot (or eating all the wrong things) to following 'a diet', or if you've suddenly changed your exercise habits and started working out a LOT. Changing your habits drastically confuses your body and it keeps on going as if you were at your 'old' level for awhile before it gets used to it... I lost over ten pounds in the first two weeks of my diet, but it hasn't happened again and I wouldn't expect it to - the only other 'drastic' losses have been when I've been sick and it's affected my ability/desire to eat until I got better.

When I first started dieting I lost about 4-5 pounds a week for the first 2 months, now I can only lose up to 2.

I lost 20lbs in a month once. Im not sure what it was on a week to week basis

My first week I lost 9 lbs. I though WOW I am a weight-losing machine!! Haha. Now I know better, it was mostly just water weight. For the first several months I lost about 2.5 lbs per week, sometimes up to 4. Then I hit a 5-week plateau, and now I am losing 1-2 lbs per week but is not as regular as it used to be, it's coming off in spurts. I am on the same sort of plan I have always been, with a little more exercise. Very annoying, I liked the old way of a dependable  weekly loss. Bodies are not very willing to be predictable, at least not mine!
