I just started calorie counter on the 20th I believe
and I weigh myself every day (i know you're only supposed to once a week)
I weigh myself in the same condition every day, right after I wake up and go pee.
On the 20th i was a little over 139
today im a little over 135
Is this just normal water weight and fluctuation? (I am also about to start my period if that affects it).
I know normal weightloss is 1-2lbs a week, and I dont generally have more than a 500 calorie defecit a day.
I am using this site to try and make me healthy and I want to do this the right way
Daily weigh-ins are a bad indicator of weight loss. A loss of 135 overnight, sadly, will be on majority water weight. If you weigh in once a week, same time, same manner, you'll get a better idea of how much you are losing. You're doing a great job in getting healthy! :]
I figured as much, and while I cant stop the daily weigh ins, ill compare a monday to a monday or a tuesday to a tuesday instead of day to day.
Agreed about weighing in every day - I weigh twice a week, Mondays and Fridays, but only log Friday's weight. I can't make myself wait a whole week to get back on the scale, but by thinking of Monday as an "unofficial" weigh-in, I don't freak myself out if it's way up or down from Friday's number. :) Also, it's better to look at your weight trend over a few weeks or months to get an accurate picture (i.e. the green "trend" line on CC's weight log).
Keep it up! Your'e doing great!
I weigh in daily but it's the green trend line that I watch. It doesn't go up or down just because of a day (or even more) of fluctuation. It does take a little practice to not stress about it. I used to stress weighing once a week. What if that happened to be the 'heavy' day? I had waited a whole week to see a gain OR if it was an unusually light day, I'd stress the next week. The bad part isn't how often you weigh, but whether you stress about it. Don't, and you'll be fine. :)
When you initially weighed yourself on the 20th, what time of day was it? had you eaten? what wer you wearing or not? Consider all of these things. My official weigh-in day is Friday morning, as soon as I wake up, naked, right after the morning tinkle, (fool proof)
To mimic Chris I weight in just like you every morning after pee but as far as fluctuations it is my trend line that I'm really watching. It's amazing what some extra smg will do. I have a higher sodium day and I can pretty much guarantee to hold onto some extra weight the next morning.
I don't set a daily weight goal I just follow it week to week as far knowing if I'm on schedule. Pooping matters, when you are on a lower calorie diet you tend to poop less and you might see slower weight movement then....bam you're down lb :).

I covered all this in my first post. Same conditions everyday
Exactly same happended to me. First week i lost 6lb. The most probable cause is if your body hasn't been used to exercise so for the first week you will lose alot of water weight. If you keep an eye on your weight next week you will almost certainly find it wont go down that fast
That is asuming you have been exercising sorry
