| CLOSED GROUP Short girls (5'4" and under) with a significant amount of weight to lose! (40+) | ||
| Jul 23 2008 14:10 | ||
Hey everyone, I'm 5'0" and I currently weigh 175. I know there is another short girls thread, but most of them seem to already weigh 120. So anyway, I need some big time motivation. Weekly weigh ins, advice, encouragement, etc....and I'm betting that some of you out there could do the same. So how about it? |

I am 5'4" and weigh 181. Last year I was at 150, which I felt good at that weight and wore a size 10, but then I hurt my knee and stopped working out and the weight quickly came back. I have been trying to count calories, but haven't done a great job, obviously, and exercise each day, now that my knee is better. I need motivation and help, too from cc buddies. My new goal weight is 130. My goal is to lose at least 2 lbs. each week. Good luck to everyone and please post me with any ideas, suggestions, questions, etc. I love meeting and talking to everyone! Hey there. I'm 5'2" and am currently at around 190. I'm aiming at 135, though if I manage to get there, I may try to get a little farther down than that.
Today: 192 Planning on doing thirty minutes of Wii-Fit this evening. It's a little tough sometimes because I also make dinner! (My husband claims that whenever he does, I find a reason to complain. Well, if he did it right... ;))

Hi!
I've been exercising pretty well the last couple of weeks. Walking 30 minutes most nights and running for 30 minutes a couple of times a week. |

OH, this feels like home; I am 42 (as of 2 days ago!), weight is 177.4 (as of this morning), I am 5'3". I started CC on May 1,2008 at 194 pounds. I think I have been very successful so far and believe I have the correct information & mindset to complete my weightloss goal of getting to 135 pounds. I started 7 years ago on a healthier lifestyle with quitting smoking, eating healthier and exercising regularly. I lost about 50 pounds at my first attempt to reach my goal and settled in at 184 as my "normal" weight. I would creep up to the low-mid 190's and then catch myself and lose those pounds back down to the mid 180's. NOW 7 years later I am tired of sitting here at 40-50 pounds over weight. I am serious about this and know I will reach my goal if it is within my body's ability, so count me in for motivation and I will look here for inspiration from all of you. Currently I am using a Zig-Zag calorie plan and I stick to it firmly. I exercise everyday. Cardio each day and muscle training every 2-3 days. I weigh myself on Friday morning for my "true" weight, but I will jump on the scale each night before bed and each morning just for the fun/addiction of doing it. lol Health is most important to me on this journey so I continue to learn how our bodies work and what they need to be healthy. I would love for the weight to fly off, but I realize it isn't reasonable to expect that (plus I have personal experience with it. 20 years ago I crashed dieted from about where I am now to 145 and was in heaven, until I started eating again) so I just enjoy the small steps along the way that I can be proud of accomplishing. At the moment I am sitting right above a number on the scale that I haven't seen in 18 years, 176, I might reach it this week and that may bring a tear of joy to my eye. Good luck to all of you!

Hello All!!! I'm 28 y/o, 4'11" & currently weighing 190.8. Yes I know, HUGE status. lol! Back on 4/14/08 I weighed in at 204.6 for a weightloss competition here at work. On June 23rd which was 2wks away from the last weigh-in I was down to 187.2. I had lost a total of 17.4lbs in that time. Well I don't know what happened but the last 2 wks of the competition I gained .6 & .8lbs & I was working out so much more & watching calories like a hawk. Well then after that I went on vacation & killed myself by gaining more weight. BW: 204.6 CW: 190.8 GW: 125.0 ~*~B~*~ |

I'm in! 5'4'' and I weighed in today at 170. I just started calorie counting at the beginning of July and got super serious about it after the holiday weekend. 170 is actually good - I was on the verge of 180 when I started. I am still scared of scales, so I don't weigh myself alot but am getting better. (I couldn't even step on one when I started, but I had a rough estimate from a doctors visit a week prior). I quit smoking as well and I think that - and a desk job - have much to do with my trouble loosing weight. Right now my exercise is moderate, I try to walk/jog every other day and have been working on figuring out a good ab routine. I am starting law school Aug 13th and I have started shopping for gyms in that area, I am hoping that by kickstarting myself now before school I can settle into some good habits and that they will carry over once the stress of school starts. (I'm terrified of late night studying filed with carb intake!! LOL)

I'm 5'1" and this am was 208. Yuck. I'm almost 47 and it seems like the weight is just creeping up. I've lost alot of weight over the years and I seem to always get back to around 200. I've started counting calories again and trying to drink 8 glasses of water a day and also limit my Diet Pepsi to just 2 a day. I know I am addicted to that. I've tried not drinking it at all, but I just seem to need that fizz and caffeine. I'm also trying to make sure and walk at least 30 minutes on the treadmill every day or every other day. I'm also out in our pool alot now and try to do lots of leg kicks and arm exercises while there. I would be happy to get to about 145 again and try to maintain that weight. |

I could use some motivation, too! I'm 5'3". I was 173 at my heaviest in January. When I started CC mid May I was at 168 pounds and am down to 158 as of this morning. The problem is that I have hit a plateau and it is SO frustrating! Especially since I was hoping to lose a few more before leaving for Hawaii on the 31st. It will be virtually impossible for me to totally count calories in Hawaii, so I'm going to have to crack down again when I get back. Maybe that will help kick start my weight loss again? I try to make it to the gym 4 or 5 days a week, but sometimes that works out to only be 2. :( |

I'm 42, 5'3 and weigh a whopping 210lbs Maybe more, I'm too afraid to look. I've always enjoyed physical activity, but for the past decade no matter how much I exercise I can't seem to get the weight off. It's very frustrating since I do watch what I eat. I have just started actually counting calories, so I guess I'll see what happens. Maybe if we stick together we can encourage each other. |

I'm in! I am 5'4, just under 200 and HAVE to see those numbers drop as I would like to get pregnant in the next year and want to be as healthy as possible. I have had a battle with weight loss/gain over the past 10 years and have varied from 135-205. I have done Atkins and WW and lost weight with both, but once I start eating 'regular' again I screw up! I seem to do so well in the mornings, but it all goes to pot when I get home after work and snack snack and snack some more! (not carrot sticks either, lol) I am sick to death of being overweight, I was so glad to read this post, thanks!

I've been in a slump recently and could use the motivation, so please count me in too! I'm 5'4 and currently weight 195 as of this morning. When I started CC I was 205 and had been stuck there for years after slow dieting that brought me down from my heighest ever weight of 225. I am elated to have finally dropped below the 200 mark this year and kept it steadily off for so many months. But I would really love to lose another 50 lbs and be at a healthy 145. Maybe one day I can set goals for 125, but for now I just want to reach a weight where I know my health isn't at risk. I try not to set goals I don't think I can reach, so I've really been trying to motivate myself to just lose another 10 lbs by the end of the summer. (10 lbs in 8 weeks). Anything more would be fantastic, but even reaching 185, a number I haven't been at since high school, would be very rewarding. Right now my biggest problem isn't my diet but my exersize routine. I've only been able to stick to a 2 day workout routine, and I would like to settle myself into a 3-4 day routine I can keep up. Good luck to everyone, I hope we can help each other out and jump over the next hurdle (or needle drop on the scale)! |

Fantastic! I'm glad people are interested. How do people feel about a closed group? That way we aren't reading through TONS of replies, and plus I guess it would feel a little more personal. Also, how about Wednesdays as weigh in days? Makes sense to me, since this started on a Wednesday and we've all mentioned our current weight status already.

Wednesday is good for me. I won't be able to weigh in the Wednesday of the 6th as I'll be in Hawaii - but I am going to need some hard core support when I get back!! |

Wednesday works for me too! I'm excited lol. I don't mind a closed group. I feel like we could be more supportive of each other that way. |

I'm in (if it's not too late that is) I'm a mother of three (ages 6, 3& 1/2 and 2) 5ft3, currently 192lbs. Started CC a year ago 48lbs heavier (yes that means I was a whopping 240 *blush*)...and I think I've lost the last 5lbs three times... I'm in a bit of a motivation rut so a bit of support is definitely in order... my interim goal is 150, final goal TBA...maybe 130? Wednesdays work for me too :)
