Anyone here gone from 185lbs down to 145 or lower?

Just wondering if you have before/after pics - and also a personal question.... did your skin retain elasticity? I mean could you tell you had lost 40lbs or did it sort of bounce back to what it used to be.

I did several years ago (HW: ~190  LW: ~135).  I gained some back after some trauma (up to ~ 160) and now I am going back down to 135.  The skin went back except on my upper arms mostly, but I think that is just lack of muscle tone.

The highest my scale read was 186, but I think I was probably up to 190 or so at my heaviest.  My lowest weight was 140 and that was only a few weeks ago.  I just got married and we went away on our honeymoon (all inclusive food and alcohol - yikes!) and I gained about 7 or 8lbs. back.  I knew it was going to happen so I'm not losing my mind about it, just trying to get back into the swing of things!

Regarding your quesiton though, I haven't noticed any difference in the stretchyness of my skin.  I've heard it has a lot to do with your age though.  I'm in my mid-20s and I'm fine.  My mom was in her 40s though and when she lost weight (about 50lbs or so) she has a lot of loose skin, not as elasticy as it used to be she said.  I think drinking lots of water will help also!

All I know - if you're concerned about elasticity, green tea is supposed to work wonders!

Oh thats great - I drink a cup of green tea every morning!  Here's hoping!

I have... a couple years ago I was about 200 lbs and then went down to the mid 180's.  I then started cc and am now at 144.8 lbs as of today.  I've lost about 37 lbs on here and I don't think you can tell.  My skin seems fine, except for an occasional stretch mark (yuck, sorry).  I have before and after pics in my profile... still working on losing though.  :-)

I was near 190 and am down to 140s - The only real trouble spot for me has been my chest :(  Not as tight as it was. It'll spring back *fingers crossed*

i was 198lbs when i started my weight loss prog and now i have managed to come down to 182lbs...though my target is 158lbs...i already getting stretch marks on my abdomen :-(

hi all,

For those of you dropped all that weight well done! It is fab!

Can you tell me how long it took you? am current 182, and really want to reach 150s - or below!

It took a couple of years and a complete lifestyle overhaul.

I started at 186 and am now 155.  It's taken since March (Joined CC 1st of April).  I don't have loose skin and due to exercise, I'm smaller all over.  I've got 15 more pounds to go but I don't think I will have loose skin when I'm done, based on my experience.

Hi newlook08~ Took me since Feb, so about six months or so to lose almost 40 lbs.

When I started being serious about losing weight, I was 198 lbs, and that was in late December. Now I'm down to 159. I have pictures, too.

Before (15 Dec 2007): http://s2.photobucket.com/albums/y41/supersta r2anna/?action=view&current=annalyric-1.j pg

After (Mid-July): http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y41/supersta r2anna/P1010002.jpg

I'm probably even thinner than that now. :)

I went from 238 to 145. There are pics in my profile.

As far as elasticity, the only place I really notice sagging and/or loose skin is my boobs - after dropping over a cup size they just don't have the perk they used to :(

Jan. 2000 I weighed 192

Jan. 2001 I weighed 127

By June 2000 I had a completely different body.  Six months later, I wore a size 7, played tennis daily, did aerobics three times a week and lifted weights three times a week.  I think back on it and no wonder I was so thin.   I loved it and have gained 40 pounds back over seven years.  When I weighed 127 I swore I'd never gain weight again - my lifestyle had changed, etc.  But it's more difficult than you think to maintain.  This time when I get down to the 130s I'm going to hold it there, and be much more diligent about maintaining and weighing in each day, and working out on an on-going basis.  I had sagging skin above my knees, on my arms a slight bit and my face looked older when I was thin.  But with continued exercise and working out with weights, the loose skin disappeared.

Most of all, I loved being happy with my body and that feeling is what motivates me again today.

WE CAN ALL DO IT!!!!  AND IT'S A BETTER LIFE!!!!

highest on the scale: 189 current on the scale: 144.  No sagging skin on me.  my stretch marks are hardly noticeable anymore.

Wow - some really inspiring weight losses - thanks so much for the feedback.

Fingers crossed I will do it :-) !!
