Ungrateful in ONEderland???

Quote  |  Reply

Okay, I don't want to be a totally ungrateful wretch, but I entered Onederland (199) ELEVEN days ago.  I did have a high SPIRITed slip (ONE wild night with some friends and vodka), but I have eaten TOTALLY clean EVERY SINGLE DAY, I have been drinking a good amount of water, and I have been trying to be relatively active.  Now yesterday, I walked for about 20 minutes AND did water aerobics for TWO HOURS!!!  I hop on the dreaded and dastardly scale this morning...I'M STILL AT 199!!???!!  What the #@%*??????  Are you kidding me???  I do not want to belittle the fact that I finally made it to Onederland, but COME ON!!!!  I am 5'7", I consume 1350 to 1500 every day, and I have a 500+ deficit EVERY DAY!!!  How can I NOT be losing???  Can anybody help me understand this???

First - 11 days isn't that long - sometimes, especially as your weight goes down, it will take longer for the loses to register.

Second - reexamine what you are eating - make sure that you are counting accurately, that you are getting a good mix of carbs, protein, and fat, and that you are still exercising as much as you had planned on, if not more.

One suggestion is to try eating more - I went from 168 to 135 (5'6") eating 1400-1600 a day (more on weekends), with cardio and weight training as exercise.

At 199, you might want to try upping your consumption for a little bit, and see how that works. Some people find it helps.  Remember that unless you end up eating as much as you burn total, you won't gain, so the worst that happens is you don't have a deficit and you don't lose, but you are doing that already.

I know how you feel...except ONEderland is like the holy grail to me right now.  I've been jumping back and forth between 200.4 and 200.8 for a week now and it's really pissing me off.  I just want to see the 1's again!!!!  Keep at it.  You can do it--it just takes time sometimes. Laughing

If you worked out that hard yesterday and weighed this morning, that may be why there was no change. sometimes when you work your muscles extra hard, they retain some water. Drink lots of water and tea today and weigh again tomorrow. there may be a change.
