Potein Bars (tigers milk/Luna bars)

So the other day I was eating my second Tigers Milk (peanut butter and honey is my <3)

when it hit me, is this bad for me? I mean, everyone who eats a protein bar cant deny that awkward, funny after taste. I live at home with my parents, but, i am never home. They live 40 minutes from the beach and my boyfriend lives at the beach and I am a surfer. Since i buy most of my own food, except the one meal a day my boyfriend usually buys, most of my shopping is from 7/11 where i can pick up an 85 cent nutrtion bar.

But are those "nutrients"  bad for me? And is having more then 1 bar a day bad?

I don't really think they're that bad, but some of them are really high in sugar.  I just make sure I read labels and choose the best I can find.  (Some of them don't even have that much protein in them.)  As long as you don't see them as a replacement for whole foods, especially whole grains and vegetables, I think they're fine as a snack.

do you have Clif Bars where you are? My trainer said that since they are made with organic soy and oats they are a better option. They have 10g of protien per bar.

Just take a look at the ingredients and nutritional values and be the judge of it yourself.  :)

Tigers Milks is not good for you. I believe it contains either high fructose corn syrup or hydrogenated oils, both which your body does not appreciate. Luna bars are better, and do not contain the worst of ingredients. One a day is okay, but if you can substitute other foods for them every once in a while, that would be ideal. If you are interested, you can find a link to a blog I work on in my profile, where we talk about some of our favorite bars (the ones without the bad ingredients). Hope that helps!
