Pig Roast Calories soobiegustas
  Jul 19 2008 14:54

I'm going to a pig roast tonight and have no idea how to count roasted pig.  I can't find it anywhere on this site.  Do you think I'd count it like a pork chop or bacon or what?

Help?

It just depends on which part of the pig you take.  Since it's roasted, I'd say you could eat pretty healthy and not do much damage.  Just go for lean cuts of meat, like loin chops.  If I'm not mistaken, that is about as lean and healthy as white meat chicken breast.

If your roast is anything like pig pickins I've been at, you're just going to have to eyeball it. Try to pick from the leaner parts like the leg and shoulder. I'd say every half cup of meat is 150 calories. Good luck and don't stuff yourself.
