I need encouragement and support! It's been an aweful week! Help!

Hi there.  I have never posted for help before, but today is the day.

I started on CC on April 16th and lost 13 lbs by June 10th.  I gained 3lbs back since then and need to find the motivation to get back on the wagon.  I'll eat really healthy part of the day, then sabatoge myself at night with the old, "well you already cheated, so you can start tomorrow" bit.  But then, tomorrow comes and I wake up late and I'm out the door with no breakfast!  Usually I'm a planner and relatively good about making sure everything is done before-hand.  Lately I've been battling with this though and I just need some encouragement and support.

Any words for the wise will help.  Thank you!

You look so gorgeous in your profile pic...so exuberant and glowing with happiness.  I know that you might not always feel that way...but you sure do look like a positive person.

Also, Do some research  into a nutritious breakfast shake/drink and make sure that it's something that you can keep stocked up in the fridge so you can grab it as you run out the door.  Or pack your breakfast for work and take it with you.  I think that although it's really good to change aspects of your life you also need to know yourself and your weaknesses and plan accordingly.

Make sure you treat yourself...eat something once a week that you really look forward to no matter how evil it is, and when you feel like snacking in the evenings use this as inspiration to stave it off.  Also I keep sugar free lollies in the cupboard for anytime I have a snack attack and am always looking for different types so I don't get bored.

Again, I can't say this enough, you look so friendly and confident..some people would be longing to be just like you.....

I totally know what you mean. I always start and stop diets because after a while I just feel like i've cheated so much it's unreconcilable.

However, just because you cheat once doesn't mean you should cheat again! This is what I've been trying to tell myself. Because having a Chick-fil-a for lunch, while bad, is redeemable by only going over a 100 or so calories. If I add three cookies on, then it's about 500 calories too many and that's much, much worse!

Also, the more I indulge the more I enjoy the taste of indulging. The less sweets I eat the less I crave them.

So instead I pig out on watermelon a LOT. It's in season and is a pretty good ice cream substitute. And you can eat a lot of it. It fills you up relatively quickly with all the water. Okay, so it has some sugar in it, but it's not awful refined sugar and dammit you have to have something sweet!

Breakfast is the worst though. So hard to wake up to make it. =(

I recommend packing a bunch of fruit the night before that you can grab if you don't have time to make breakfast. Or, as all the women in my office do, make some oatmeal once you get there. (I personally am not a fan.) I think they must keep it at their desks. Or if you can handle soy milk, keep the small packages that don't have to be refrigerated with some Special K on hand if you don't have a fridge where you work.

To me, it's always better to stay positive when you cheat and tell yourself you can do better than it is to slide in give in because then you'll feel much, much worse.... =(

But I would kill to have lost 10 lbs. (Or even 5!!!) Clearly you can do it! As Lisa before said, you look so wonderful and happy in your picture! And think, just the fact that you're trying is a lot more than probably 50% of obsess Americans are doing. So kudos to that!

*hugs!*

But I would kill to have lost 10 lbs. (Or even 5!!!)

Ditto to that!  I would give my left breast to lose that much! Wink

I think I'd HAVE to give my left breast to lose that much!!!!!!! ^_~

Before I decided to lose weight, I always skip breakfast. No time and all. But now, I stock my house with banana and milk. It won't take you long to drink a glass, and you can carry banana with you while you drive. Mix some trail mix together and put it in your bag. I love mixing almond, raisins, and prunes, sometimes even a little bit of chocolate and put it in one serving bag.

You know there is nothing wrong in eating a little bit of your favorite food. The key is moderation. If you avoid your favorite completely, you will always be searching for it. Just eat your "good" food first, whatever that may be in your case, then get your favorite. Most of the time, you will find you don't need the whole chocolate bar (that would be me), just a bit will already satisfy your craving.

You are already doing great with the weight loss, just keep at it. You can do it.

If you avoid your favorite completely, you will always be searching for it.

 so so so so true!

I just wanted to thank everyone for the encouragement!!!  It has been a pretty crazy week!!!  I really appreciate the feedback and the encouragement!!!  And ya'll are so sweet to say such nice things about my pics.  I think sometimes it's hard to see the positives when you are in a rut!
