"The Guilt" vicki8seekers

Ok, now I KNOW there has to be someone out there who feels this way:

You have a bad day eating...you skip your workout because it's been a long frustrating day. You end up eating a fast food meal or two....then top it off with a dessert, and maybe later a little snack (cuz you've only eaten bad stuff so you STILL are not full). Then that night, or the next morning you feel disgusted with yourself, full of guilt because you KNOW what you did...you KNOW the workouts from the past week were just wiped out and now you must start from square one.

What do you do? How do you handle it? What do you tell yourself to NOT make the same food choices that next day....or make sure you get in a workout....How do you not let yourself fall down that slippery slope back to the fat fatty I hate myself attitude?

That happen to me today!!! Today I don't make my "workout" and I feel terrible guilty because I know it's friday and probably I'm going to eat out of my house!!!! and I don't want eat junky food. I don't know what to tell you because I'm in the same situation. I just want that you know that you are  not alone. Sometimes we have that problem just maintain a "possitive attitud " remember that we live one day at the time. Don't feel bad.

If i'm feeling guilty/gross after a bad food day I try to put extra time into doing my hair/makeup/nails and try to make myself feel pretty anyway.

This totally a problem for me, because I am a recovering perfectionist.  "If you can't do it right, why bother?"  (This explains my living room.)

But, yeah, it's all about forcing yourself to just go 'that was yesterday, this is today.  Yesterday doesn't matter, what I do now matters.'

I hit the gym and steer clear of the kitchen unless it's for an apple, baby carrots, and lots of water.  Then I read Calorie Count stories and figure out I'm not alone in this me versus the food and bulge battle.

Well. Think of it this way. You didnt actually wipe out the past week's workout. One day of pigging out wont kill you. You've been working up your metabolism, it will hand one day in a while just fine.

Think of your metabolism as a fire. If its been burning hot and strong and you dump a couple of cups of water on it, it will still keep burning, eat up that water and then continue on its way. If you add more wood then 'as normal' it will burn just as hot.

Your metabolism is the same way. Had a bad day once in a while? Fine. The next day you hit the gym the same way you have (you dont over do it) and you eat the same way you should (dont withhold calories).

You'll be fine. Dont for get to live while you live.
