| When burning more cals, how long before I actually start losing weight? | ||

With my gym routine, I seem to be regularly burning around 1000 cals more than my intake. So the question is how long should it be before I actually start losing weight, I don't need to loose much but it doesn't seem to be shifting much yet. |

Give it a week before you step on the scales. To encourage the weight-loss, as well as eating less and doing exercise try to get as good a diet as possible with plenty of fresh fruit and vegetables. Eat/snack regularly i.e. don't skip breakfast. And keep yourself well-hydrated with 1 or 2 litres of water to drink each day.
If you're not medically overweight and you're trying to lose weight then it is a very slow business. And if you're not technically overweight, 1000 cal deficit may be too severe. You don't want to crash down to your 'ideal weight' but yo-yo straight back up again. A gentler loss... 500 - 700 deficit ... is less strenuous and is easier to maintain. Best of luck. |
