Why the grin, you say? This morning, I weighed in at 184.8 pounds. I'm 5'6". So I have crossed from "obese" to "overweight". I never really felt obese, but now it's official. I'm so happy, I could dance. In fact, I think I might! |

Hey congratulations, it is worth celebrating each milestone. Just keep it up. Soon you will be saying you are slightly overweight and then normal!! For those of you who are still in the obese range, don't be discouraged. You can do it, just eat healthily and exercise and it will come off and stay off. |

Original Post by 1lbsatatime: Hmm, I'm 5'7 and 214 lbs and when I check my BMI it doesn't say obese, it says "severely overweight". Is that the same thing? |

a few months ago when my BMI hit 29.9, and I crossed from obese to overweight, I was so happy. Congratulations to you. It's a fantastic milestone to cross, and it means so much for your health. Your risk of diabetes, CHD, and all other kinds of "lifestyle" diseases has now reduced, thanks to your hard work and dedication. You deserve to celebrate this. Well done xxxx |

Original Post by kukua: Sorry for the confusion. I don't use the CC counter. I use the Center for Disease control and prevention website- http://www.cdc.gov/nccdphp/dnpa/bmi/adult_BMI/english_bmi_ca lculator/bmi_calculator.htm
