I just want to eat!

I haven't felt like this in months. I used to binge eat quite a lot & seem to of been getting along fine for the past 2 months. Today was the first day off I've had to myself in about 2 months & I've basically hung about the house all day as it's rare I'm ever here. I did do 35min pilates but thought I'd just take it easy today. Also add in the giving up smoking (into my 3rd smokefree week now) hence nothing to suppress my appetite.

I'm already over my calorie intake for today & it's 8.20pm so probably too late to eat really but I've just felt hungry all day.

I have been feeling more hungry than usual in the past couple of days. My calorie intake is usually between 1300 - 1650 in the week & probably 1400 - 1800 at the weekend.

Any advice most appreciated!

Are you eating an adequate intake for your weight/age/height? x: Not having enough calories in can result in feeling hungry.

If you feel like you're honestly going to binge: find something to occupy your hands - you've taken a step in coming to the computer and typing rather than eating. Stay out of the kitchen, too, because just being near food can be tempting. ><

I'm 23, 5'4" & 157lbs. On here my daily calories intake says 1650 which is what I try to stay just under. I'm burning just over 2000 cal a day too.

2000 calories being your resting BMR plus additional exercise? :] Heh, sorry if I sound like I'm asking a lot of questions, but if you're burning 2000 on TOP of what you eat, that's obviously... well. Not healthy. But it doesn't sound like that's the case xD

Your hunger may be down to boredom if you're used to being more active in the day. I get like that sometimes. o:

2000 is what I burn before any additional exercise.

It may well be boredom. I did wonder if it was a pre TOTM hunger but thats over a week away so hmmm odd.

It helps me to brush my teeth when I'm in that type of mood - it just makes me not want the taste of food in my mouth.

I get that too though - a week before TOTM, I am super munchy, and then the week of, I struggle to get my 1200. Weird. 0_o

Usually when I find that I'm getting more hungry, it helps to go for the whole wheat, high fiber foods, because they fill you up more.. Also, I sometimes drink more water when I'm hungry because it can temporarily satisfy the hungry feeling and if anything, it's better for you than not having anything at all.

good job with quittig smoking, though, my mother quit seven years ago, and despite an initial weight gain, she has since then become active, lost 150 lb, and run her first sprint triathalon. my father has tried to quit, but cannot. so keep up the good work; try more filling food with less empty calories.

also- if you feel the need to chew something, try ice chips- it works for me.
