I didn't actually find this site- I found it posted by trustwomen on another thread.

I remember that post.

It's certainly very interesting to see.  At my highest weight my BMI was a 36.6, but I didn't look as if I was obese.  (I think it might actually be considered morbidly obese, but I'm not sure.)

it's amazing to see that not a lot of people is normal!!! And that obese/normal/underweight/overweight don't look the same on 2 different people! It's kind of comforting! Thank you for showing me this

Wow, great site!  Thanks for the link.

But... *cries*  I will be thrilled just to see myself at "overweight" again.

This photo collection is great, it was put together by Kate Harding (and friends) over at shapley prose, which is a great blog, for everyone interested in self-acceptance and the concept of health at every size. I highly recommend it!

Interesting... it just goes to show how ridiculous the bmi measurement is as a measure of health and attractiveness. I don't know if it's just me, but most of the people who were 'overweight' looked perfectly normal and healthy, and the 'normals' are all stick-thin (by the time you're 'underweight' you're at deaths-door...) And boy do I wish I'd looked as good at 240-50 pounds as those women! But then, if I had I might not have decided that enough was enough and gone on my diet...

I'd like to give 'em my pic! my BMI is 27.....and I look NOTHING like anyone that was listed as that!

These was really cool to see. Isn't it weird that only a few were normal like I am striving to be. My BMI is 27 so I am overweight. It looks like it will have to drop over 15lbs to be close to normal

Take from it what you will, but I'm pretty sure the point of putting up that slide show was to illustrate just how ridiculous BMI standards are as a measure of fitness and attractiveness, not to spur people into losing weight to get down to that oh-so-arbitrary "normal" range.
Wow I am shocked at how many of the overweight people look totaly normal are very atractive, as do many of the obese people.

To me obese has always inspired visions of people so big they cant move, and so what my BMI hit that it was quite crushing. I think it really helps seeing how untrue it is in someone else, as everybody judges themself more harshy.
