Tried a new beverage this morning, called "Celsius". I only purchased them because they were "on sale" at our local Kroger for $3 for a 4-pack. Normally these buggers are nearly $8 for the same 4-pack. Just curious if anyone else has tried this, and what they think. The product's website is http://www.celsius.com/
The beverage is only 10 calories (12 oz.), has no sugar, and supposedly increases your body's metabolism in order to give you a long-lasting energy boost (and burn more calories). Sounded pretty dubious to me, but it was cheap (at the time), so I decided to give it a shot.
Had my first one this morning, and I did feel like I had more energy -- but, I thought, that could just be the caffeine in this thing -- it didn't feel much different than a cup of coffee (though it tasted better). -- 5 hours later, I still feel energized -- definitely longer lasting than coffee -- but maybe its all psychological (placebo effect?).
Any thoughts? Does this look legit? Is it actually helping me loose weight? Since it will probably be full price next time, is it worth $2/can?
Please do not believe everything you hear - maybe if you drank like 10 of those bottles - the ingredients in them would help you lose weight - but then again you would be adding on 50 calories to your diet!
I have tried that energy drink before too in Ginger Ale flavor and I found it to be repulsive! There are much better tasting energy drinks out there that can probably give you a much better BOOST - 2 of my favorites are Xenergy [0calories & 0sugars] and ABB Speed Stack [5calories per entire bottle & no sugars & has 250 mg of caffeine for the entire bottle!!!]
I had the Mixed Berry flavor, which was pretty decent. But honestly, I've never really been into the whole energy drink thing -- I only picked these up on the spur of the moment, because they were price reduced and boasted that they help with weight loss. Honestly, regardless of how good it tastes, if its not truly helping me get in shape, then to me its just money down the drain.
