I've been pleased with Designer Whey (Chocolate Caramel Peanut) and Optimum Nutrition (Chocolate) - I'm more of a 'chocolate' than 'fruit-flavored' fan of protein drinks, so I have a bias towards these!
i use nutribiotic rice protein which is 55 calories a serving and they have an original flavor that has no sugar. i whip it up with some almond milk and it's only 105 cals.
Isopure makes a zero carb protein powder. I use the creamy vanilla flavor which is pretty low in calories too. I'll be honest, it doesn't taste all that great just mixed with water, so I add a little skim milk and a banana. It's not great, but it gets the job done. A girl at my gym told me about a delicious protein powder called Dessert by BSN. I'm sure it's prob not low carb or low calorie(hence why it tastes so good, lol), but I heard it works really well. ncgirl30 mentioned Optimum Nutrtion too. My bf uses that brand and likes it a lot. Your best bet is to try a few powders and see which one tastes decent and gives you good results. You prob want to test each one out for about a month to give it time to work. Good luck. Let me know if you find any winners. PS I actually just went on bodybuilding.com and found the nutrition information for the Lean Dessert protein shake, and surprisingly the cals (130 per scoop) and carbs(7g, 3g sugar) aren't terrible. And the selection of flavors looks delicious.
EAS whey protein is pretty tasty even in just water. Watch out for the cholesterol in some brands, including EAS, though. EAS is cheaper at Sam's Club than any others I've found but I'm probably going to switch because of the cholesterol - 65 mg/scoop. My stepson is the main user and he's got some possible bad genes for high cholesterol already.
