| Can't get started help me please! | ||

I have been trying to start eating healthy for the past 3 days but every night I end up eating ice cream or cookies with my boyfriend. I can't resist! When he is eating it, I first just want a bite, but then I end up eating most of it myself! The worst part about it is the next morning I get so mad at myself for ruining all the hard work I did late at night. I know if I get past the first day I can do it! Can anyone help or give me advice. |

Well, i don't know what is your calorie limit, but actually you can eat ice-cream and cookies only a portion size. For example one cookie and half a cup of ice-cream. You can eat everything what is in your calorie limit. Don't buy cookies or ice-cream for now if you can't resist it, just don't have it in your house. |

Do you know what works best? Well first off, I will tell you what DOESNT work best...deprivation! When starting a diet, for the first two weeks add healthy, nutrient filled foods (low sugar fruit/veggies/lean protein and a multivitamin). Your body will begin to naturally reject sugars and processed foods. That way you can continue eating 'some' things that you may struggle with resisting. I mean, for example...just in the last couple weeks I started adding healthy foods to my diet, such as raw carrots, some fruit and cooked egg whites. However, when I went home at lunch on Tuesday, I had a Haugen Dauz icecream bar after my Lean Cuisine. The icecream had 330 calories and 22 grams of fat!!! lol......but the only reason I think I ate it was because no one else was home to stop me and because I knew it was 'there'......I dont think I actually wanted it.... We would order pizze every Friday for supper and then basically my diet would fall apart during the weekends..... but after a while I started not even thinking about eating bad things....AND the best part IS my place is FULL of this nasty ****... (My boyfriend still eats it but I havent been bothered by it) and if I do eat a Double Stuffed Oreo or two, I wont beat myself up for it. Trust me....Keep on your regular eating habits, just add some things and soon you will notice you will no longer have a desire for some of the things you used to eat. (Omg, I even stopped having my morning coffee with French Vanilla cream in it lol) and it hasnt bothered me either, I dont feel like 'oh I had to give something up" I just lost my desire for it! Good luck! |

I have these really small bowls and if I want ice cream (coffee is my favorite) then I measure it out and put it in those bowls. I have also been able to substitute in diet puddings or diet yogurts. Ultimately I try not to keep anything that I obsess over in the house. For example, I don't buy coffee ice cream. I don't buy cookies that I like - my husband likes Chips Ahoy (YUK!). That works for me. I also for something sweet buy sugarless LifeSavers... It helps. And celebrate your small successes - maybe you did not have a full bowl of ice cream the night before -- celebrate that you did what you did... Good Luck. |
