| Sunburnt... and annoyed. | ||

So I "never" burn right? at least that's what I thought. Well it's been hot as hell here for the past week and I have a pool in my back yard and a beach 20 minutes away. Needless to say I've been outside more often than not, in my bikini, which left me with the "perma-bathing suit" tan lines. So I'm completely vain and have to go to a wedding this weekend, my dress is strapless and I didn't want the whole glowing white halter top lines to be visible, so I decided to go to a tanning bed (stupid, I know). While I'm there, I decide that I may as well even out everything, and I expose my poor little bum to the ultra violet rays and now it is so burnt and sore and ugly that I regret that decision immensely. To make a long story short, does anybody know how to reduce at least the redness of a sunburn? The pain, I deserve, the redness...well it's vanity that got me here anyways. |

put aloe in the fridge- apply it when needed.. try not to wear underwear for a few days so your body can breathe.. wear loose clothes
stay out of the sun a few days.. and WEAR sunscreen outside! and avoid cancer-in-a-box.. |

| You went in way too long if you burned that easily. | ||

Thanks guys! I only went in for 7 minutes, actually. It was the first time I'd ever gone and will definitely be the last. I'll try the aloe vera gel for sure. Thanks again! |

7 minutes is too long for skin that hasn't been exposed. If I would be pale like I am through winter and hop in for 7 minutes, I'd be burnt and in pain too.
I sometimes think the staff needs to steer people in the right direction. I wish they would do that a bit more often. |

Yea.. The staff should point the people in the right direction.. Out of the door!
I hate tanning beds.. So bad for you. |

| Vinegar mixed with water will help a bit. But I think you just have to wait it out. | ||

That's not directed toward you.. Just making an opinion.
I have used them before for dances in my junior year of high school.. and I used to get burnt on the back of my legs and butt sooo bad I didn't want to sit. Besides burning, they just are nasty in general.. That's all I meant. No offense! |

ibuprofen will help with the pain. A cold milk compress is supposed to help burns heal, but I've never done it because I hate the smell of milk. Keep moisturizing with aloe frequently, since you'll probably peel. |

If you were in a stand-up "bed" then you should have rotated to face the door halfway through. Of course, it's a little late for that now! Not much you can do besides apply aloe liberally. Feel better! |
