Im doing the south beach diet right. i have done it before, but now i am doing it again.
i was just wondering if there is any south beachers out there that have some phase one suggestions for me.
im fine the rest of the day, but if i have to eat another egg for breakfast im going to crack :O) hehe
im fine on the weekdays i usually just eat hardboiled because im in a rush and its easy
but on the weekends just eggs is getting almost unbearable.
if ANYONE has ANY type of suggestion please throw it my way.
the chickens will thank you :)
i mean i love eggs i really do, but whats the use of over easy eggs without toast? and theres only so many things you can put in an omelet without it being gross
I've been doing south beach for almost a year now ...
remember that once you're past phase one (which should only last your first two weeks), you can add whole grains to your diet -- which opens the door for whole grain toast with smart balance peanut butter; Nature's Path FlaxPlus Flakes, etc.
Even during phase one, I occaisionally had things like a leftover grilled chicken breast, or some rolled up lean deli meat for breakfast.
ewillman I totally agree.Deli meat with low/no fat cheese, cottage cheese, celery and pb. I get a South Beach news letter in my email almost daily and there were some suggestions on breakfast, including all 3 phases. You can also pick up the South Beach Quick and Easy Cookbook (almost all recipes are 30mins or less) and it includes over 200 recipes!
Here's a link to the breakfast suggestions, hope it works for you!

Also, if memory serves they have a red bean cake (like fish cakes) that is supposed to be really good. I haven't gotten around to making it yet though.
I'm not doing south beach but i am carb cycling on my low days i love :-
Turkey Salsa rolls (get some sliced turkey and use it as a "wrap" for some salsa throw it in the microwave to heat it up .. yum!! you can even throw cheese in too if your diet will allow just make sure its cheese with no carbs)
egg florentine - microwave some frozen spinach (or canned), throw some warmed ham on it with a poached egg and abit of parmesan.
spinach and chill beef omlete - i make the chilli beef up in advance, warm it up cook the spinach in the micro then throw both into an omelette -super filling first think in the moing also makes a great luch or tea for that matter.
Leftovers ... leftovers from the night before reheated are such an underrated breakfast i often make extra of whatever the nght before with the ourpose of eating it for brekky the next day.
