What did YOU have for breakfast today? jonasfreek
  Jul 07 2008 16:01

I have seen lots of 'What did you eat today', 'what did you have for lunch today', ect....but I have never seen a breakfast one. I think this is a great way to try new foods and get other ideas.

For starters, this is what I had:

  • Oatmeal with half a banana, Cinnamon, and half a teaspoon of vanilla extract;
  • Half a kiwi;
  • Raspberries;
  • Raisins;
  • Strawberries;
  • Unsalted cashews;
  • and raw almonds.

What did YOU have today?

Egg beaters scramble with onions, peppers, tomato, mushrooms and some of my dads homemade salsa, then two pieces of Nature's own sugar free bread, toasted. One was plain and the other had pb and j.

Hmm... I had Kelloggs Sustain. Only it didn't lol. Half an hour later I was munching on a banana Laughing

I think I might try something like yours with loads of fruit.

Great post, just when I was wanting ideas!

I had a 90 calorie cup of yougart.  I am desperately trying to make up for the thousands of extra calories I ate over the fourth of July weekend.  I was so mad at myself this morning when I added everything up from the weekend.  I messed up big time!

I had Rice Krispies with skim milk. I don't know how you people have enough time to 'make' breakfast!

I plan out what I want to eat while I'm in the shower and it usually only takes 10 mins or less to make. Sometimes I'll cut up veggies the night before so I can make an omelette in the morning.

But I've always been the type to make the time for breakfast in the morning. I don't like to be rushed so I get up pretty early.

  • A bit of calorie-reduced cheese.

I had to be at the doc early, so I had to eat after, was starving, and this was quick and good, my fave stand-by:

One slice 15-grain bread skillet toasted lightly with smidge SB marg., thin spread of low-sugar strawberry preserves, topped with 2 egg whites spiked with Sriracha and a Laughing Cow French Onion melted in the middle and then flipped (omelet style).  Yeah, I like sweet/savory/spicy together.  And a 1/2 apple split with my son.

This afternoon, I'm going to have what I really wanted for breakfast:  Steel cut oats w/fresh berries and chopped banana, drizzled with honey & 2T 2% milk mixed with 1/2T cream, sprinkled with cake spice.  I can taste it already!

but i made oatmeal (with water, there was no milk), with the last of the frozen blueberries (not even 1 cup), and 1 cut-up strawberry.

ahah good thing i went grocery shopping today. :|

I had mixed berries with plain yoghurt
and a slice of whole wheat toast with marmite Smile

a whole wheat bagel from Dunkin Donuts. i hollowed out one half and then toasted it and put on a few sprays of the I Can't Believe It's Not Butter spray. mmmm(:
and an iced lite vanilla latte with some splenda.

yep, i took a trip to DD this morning, haha. everyone else's breakfasts seem to have so much more variety, but hey, this was tasty and it kept me full for a pretty long while, so i'm happy. i do normally eat more fruit though.
