Go to a whole foods store

Adams Natural Peanut Butter, Natural Honey, Yogurt Salad Dressing (usually be made up salads), Ezekial bread (frozen section), frozen yogurt ice cream, kashi go Lean, steel cut oats, fat free cheese

Wheat bread, oatmeal and honey are all pretty healthy.  Peanut butter, cheese, salad dressing and ice-cream are healthy in moderate amounts.  No idea what a 'Life Cereal' is... but it doesn't sound poisonous.

I am addicted to Peanut Butter - I have tried BetterN Peanut Butter from trader joes but ew, I dislike it ALOT. I tried RYE bread, dislike it.

I was told Sara Lee Reduced Wheat Bread was too sugary or something?

Maybe I can replace honey with sugar free syrup or no?

I think Life Cereal has sugar as one of the three first ingredients which I guess is bad.

I would try Laughing Cow Cheese but not too sure where to buy it I didnt see it at trader joes when I went.

Salad dressing I have Italian I think for 2 tbsp its 70 calories?

What are some brands of Ice Cream?

Peanut butter... try hummus.  It's savoury and has a nutty flavour but is lower in calories per 100g.  Alternatively, just don't buy peanut butter for a while until you can leave it alone.

By 100% stoneground wholemeal bread instead of anything 'reduced'.  The fewer ingredients the better.

Honey is far healthier than a sugar-free syrup.  Just have it in smaller amounts

Any cereal is good that has a high fibre content and less than 20g sugar per 100g.  Wholegrain rolled oats or steel-cut oats are better than the instant sort.

Use cheese as a flavouring rather than a food if you want to be healthy.  No more than 1oz a day.  If you pick a good quality, strongly-flavoured cheese a little will go a long way.

Salad dressing.... make it with good quality extra virgin olive oil and a little vinegar and then serve it in teaspoons rather than tablespoons

Ice-cream is meant to be an occasional treat rather than a staple.  A small dish of the nicest one you can find will be healthier and better for your soul than pints of something crappy just because it's low-fat.

  • Skippy Peanut butter-->maybe try Skippy Natural Peanut Butter?
  • Natural Honey-->Honey is good for you in moderation, I think :)
  • Salad Dressing-->a low-fat vinaigrette?
  • Sara Lee Wheat Bread-->they have 100 calorie bread out there somewhere, but I don't remember what brand it was from; but as long as you're doing wheat, you should be good
  • Tofuttis Ice Cream-->sorbet
  • Life Cereal-->Multigrain Cheerios maybe?  I have a Life addiction :) hehe
  • Weight Control Oatmeal Maple and Brown Sugar-->that sounds alright, but I don't eat oatmeal
  • Cheese-->um...dunno :)
Hope I helped! xoxoxo Okie

  • Skippy Peanut butter - natural peanut butter with no added oil (the kind you have to mix up yourself - if you're really freaked about the oil, pour it off the top of the jar. but it's not that bad for you in moderation - you NEED fat of some sort.)
  • Natural Honey - honey is honey...
  • Salad Dressing - what sort do you want? Low-fat? Reduced fat? All-natural? Fat-free? There are as many choices as there are brands in the store, or you can learn to make your own basic vinaigrette at home...
  • Sara Lee Wheat Bread - just make sure you're buying a whole-wheat bread and check the fiber content - the higher the better.
  • Tofuttis Ice Cream - icecream isn't good for you by definition... low-fat or fat-free frozen yoghurt is better but has dairy.
  • Life Cereal - Life has almost no fiber and a ton of sugar. Fiber One has ten thousand times more fiber in it and it comes in four different flavours so you won't get bored.
  • Weight Control Oatmeal Maple and Brown Sugar - make your own oatmeal and flavour it to taste with fresh fruit and a little sugar (a little goes a long way)
  • Cheese - low-fat cheeses are perfectly edible.

I don't have suggestions for ALL of them:

I am a salad LOVER and really tend to shy away from DRESSINGS....
I will often squeeze a fresh ORANGE over my salad and then sprinkle a good balsamic vinegar on top...it's a delicious combination that I have begun to really enjoy! :)

I ALSO tend to steer clear of CHEESE cause I can't stop eating it once I START----buuuuut a GREAT substitute that I have discovered are the LIGHT laughing cow cheese wedges----only 35 calories a wedge! smooth,..creamy,...extremely MELTABLE and SOooo delicious!

  • Skippy Peanut butter
  • Natural peanut butters. Whole Foods stores and The Fresh Market both have "grind-it-yourself" stations, which are also quite fun and very interesting. If you can purchase natural or organic peanuts and peanut oil, you can attempt to make it at home in a food processor or blender. (Skippy also makes a natural peanut butter vairation, although it contains palm oil, which is not so great for you in reality.)

  • Natural Honey
  • Like Kaj said, honey is honey. You could also try agave nectar if you want a vegan option though, and Stevia is a no-calorie all-natural plant sweetener that adds a "sugaryness" to both baked goods and beverages alike.

  • Salad Dressing
  • Make your own! There are thousands of recipes, and honestly, it's not that hard to come up with a few of your own. Just mix and match your favorite herbs, vinegars, and oils and viola! Instant all-natural dressing. There is always the option of buying organic brands as well.

  • Sara Lee Wheat Bread
  • Rudi's Organic wheat bread, OR homemade wheat bread. With the case of homemade, you can also use spelt or oat flour for extra nutritional value.

  • Tofuttis Ice Cream
  • So Delicious makes a soy-based ice cream that is sweetened with all plant sweeteners (no cane sugar or syrup) - that might be a beter option.

  • Life Cereal
  • Any organic cold cereal that is fortified. Search around at Whole Foods.

  • Weight Control Oatmeal Maple and Brown Sugar
  • Make your own - once again! Oatmeal is a cinch to make. Just pour, boil, stir, and enjoy! Adding in wheat germ and flaxseed make it a superfood.

  • Cheese
  • Low-fat cheeses? Goat cheese? Honestly, if you really like cheese, enjoy the real thing in moderation. Just make sure it's organic and completely natural - and preferabley rennet-free.

    For

    • Skippy Peanut butter
    • Natural Honey
    • Salad Dressing
    • Sara Lee Wheat Bread
    • Tofuttis Ice Cream
    • Life Cereal
    • Weight Control Oatmeal Maple and Brown Sugar
    • Cheese

And where I can buy them.

    • Skippy Peanut butter - try Better'n Peanut Butter, http://www.betternpeanutbutter.com/ we get it at Target's but some Whole Foods and Central Markets have it. As some one said you can also make your own at Whole Foods or Central Market.

    • Natural Honey - its healthy, but you might try Agave syrup

    • Salad Dressing - I like straight, aged Balsamic Vinegar, especially Costco's Kirkland brand. Its a tiny bit sweet and has a nice flavor all on its own even with very little sugar.

    • Sara Lee Wheat Bread - Whole grains or sourdough. I hardly eat bread anymore so its tough to recommend something. Some of the Mission whole wheat tortillas are very good as well.

    • Tofuttis Ice Cream - Try sugar free popsicles (some are only 10 cal each) or some Blue Bunny no sugar added. Problem is that almost all "healthy" choices, even frozen yogurts, are high in sugar and some sodium as well.

    • Life Cereal - I like Kashi Autumn Wheat (sold everywhere) and South Beach Toasted Wheat (which is now off the market). Both are higher volume servings 1-1/4 cup, no sodium and very low in sugar, high fiber, high protein but still are tasty.

    • Weight Control Oatmeal Maple and Brown Sugar - Quick Oats, any brand, Trader Joe's plain instant because of volume (so you feel fuller) and low sugar, low sodium, high fiber, high protein. Problem with most instant's is they are high in sugar (> 8 gms/serving), sodium, or both. So I get the plain kind, add sweetener (agave, or packets) and cinnamon and it tastes great!

    • Cheese - Most cheeses are to high in sodium for me. I had to give up almost all lunch meats and cheese. My wife still likes the cheese sticks (50 cal, but high sodium). When I have cheese I sprinkle either feta or bleu cheese on a salad. Will sometimes use fat free/low fat mozzarella on salads as well.

  • Skippy Peanut butter- Try natural Peanut Butter. A great kind, called 'Krema Natural', can be found at major supermarkets such as Meijers or Kroger. At Meijers, they have it for .50 less than Jif or Skippy- it adds up over time!
  • Natural Honey- Honey is fine in moderation! But if you really want an alternative, try Stevia, a all-natural plant sweetener.
  • Salad Dressing- Like zebulancherry said, it is fun and super simple to make your own. You can experiment with your tastes and make something perfect for whatever salad you have.
  • Sara Lee Wheat Bread- Look for Organic or all natural breads at stores like Earth Fare or Whole Foods. If you are feeling adventurous, make your own, like zebulancherry said.
  • Tofuttis Ice Cream- If you aren't vegan, make your own ice cream. It is fun and easy, and you can find many low-fat recipes using skim milk and Stevia.
  • Life Cereal - My favorite alternative is Puffins cereal. It is not organic, but all-natural and free of preservatives and colors.
  • Weight Control Oatmeal Maple and Brown Sugar -Organic instant oatmeal, if you really want instant- can be found at many grocery stores- even Costco carries them But the best alternative is making your own. I like to add blueberries, pumpkin, banana, wheat germ, skim milk/soy milk, and pecans to mine. The possibilities are endless!!
  • Cheese - There are some fat free cheeses out there, but in my opinion they don't really taste like the real thing. Nutritional Yeast has a cheesy taste, but not so much the texture. If you honestly love cheese, then let yourself indulge once and a while. It has protein, calcium, and Vitamin B12. Not bad!!
  • Skippy.... try Marantha No Stir Peanut Butter

Weight Control oatmeal... try Nature's Path brand instant oatmeal.

Whole Foods does have a store brand version of natural peanut butter for $2.

I use plain oatmeal and add wheat germ and brown sugar to mine, wheat germ and real maple syrup to my son's.

    Buy local honey.

I use regular salad dressing at half the amount and add salsa to it. I did just buy a natural salad dressing mix  to add to plain yoghurt but I haven't tried it yet.

I eat 7 Grain Oroweat bread.  No HFCS and 3 grams of fiber.

I eat cheese sparingly these days.

Peanut Butter - I just got my first shipment of PB2 and it's the best peanut butter alternative I've ever tried.  I bought it online at bellplantation.com

My current favorite bottled dressing is Wishbone Light Ranch.  ONly 50cals for 2 tbsp and tastes just like regular ranch.  Otherwise I make my own...oil, lime or orange juice with a little salt and pepper.  Delicious!

Cheese - Cabot 75% reduced fat cheddar.  Does not taste like plastic...I hate fat free singles.  This melts and tastes just like cheddar.  Perfect for an egg white omelet!

Almond butter is good for cholesterol, but expensive.

Remember, some fat with your salad helps to absorb the nutrients like lycopene in tomatoes.

Homemade pudding is a great substitute for ice cream.  The flavor is nothing like the stuff in the store.  It's easy, and you'll know exactly what's in it.  I make it in the evening sometimes, and I never manage to let it cool before I eat it, but even hot it's more natural-tasting and -good- than most ice cream.

You can use tofu in some recipes (lasagna, eggplant casserole, fajitas) to reduce or eliminate cheese.  Also, some cheeses (ricotta) aren't as bad.

    • Skippy Peanut butter  --  Ok, you don't like Better'n...hmm.  I love that stuff.  I've heard of PB2 but never had it, but it sounds good, maybe give that a shot?  Google it.
    • Natural Honey --  Nothing wrong with honey, but maybe try agave nectar or stevia?
    • Salad Dressing -- If you've shopped at Trader Joe's, try their fat free balsamic vinaigrette.  It's amazing!!
    • Sara Lee Wheat Bread -- Whole wheat mini pitas are awesome and great for sandwiches without all the calories and carbs.  :)
    • Tofuttis Ice Cream  -- Nothing wrong with this every once in a while, but I love to snack on Cool Whip Free while it's still frozen instead of thawing it.  It's got hardly any calories at all and it's like eating vanilla ice cream.
    • Life Cereal  --  Kashi GoLean Crunch is my most favorite cereal everrr!!
    • Weight Control Oatmeal Maple and Brown Sugar  -- Don't see a problem with this unless you switch to rolled oats and add your own natural maple syrup or something.
    • Cheese  -- Try veggie cheese, or go lite or fat free.  Or skip the cheese altogether!  I LOVE cheese but I rarely eat it nowadays...

I thought Better'n peanut butter tasted AWFUL and lead to me want the real thing even MORE!!!!!!

Why would you want to find an alternative to PB?? It's wonderful! I get the Simply Jiff- its natural but you dont have to stir in the oil or fridge it, how? I don't know.

Try natural Peanut Butter. A great kind, called 'Krema Natural', can be found at major supermarkets such as Meijers or Kroger.

I LOVE Krema! I almost always buy it, since it's one of the few brands that has no added salt or sugars. Smucker's Organic peanut butter has no palm oil and sugar though, and it's only lightly salted, which is nice sometimes.

I thought Better'n peanut butter tasted AWFUL and lead to me want the real thing even MORE!!!!!!

Wow I really jacked up that sentence lol
