( Yup weird name )

Im really trying hard to overcome my ED, Me and my Dad are real close but he mentions my weight, what im eating CONSTANTLY.

E.G "What are you having" To be honest I feel like a fat cow whenever I eat because of it, I just want to be left alone and to eat my food and gain weight without him saying "Come here let me play the Xylophone on your ribs" whenever hes drunk. :(

People - and fathers are no exception - aren't telepathic.  Your Dad my find the whole ED thing is rather out of his comfort-zone and be resorting to poor-taste jokes in a misguided effort to lighten the mood.  If comments hurt your feelings you have to tell the person making them.  If you say nothing or just hope they notice you're looking uncomfortable then you'll get nowhere.  But if you explain in clear terms that personal remarks are unacceptable, hurtful and impeding your recovery process then they'll stop.

During a pub quiz recently there was a question asking how many ribs human beings have. All my friends looked straight at me and said 'Kat can check, she's the one who will be able to feel all of her ribs'. I didn't think ANY of my friends thought I was skinny enough for that, made me very very embaressed and upset, but I'm sure my friends wouldn't have purposefully made me want to feel like that. Lots of people have no idea how that type of comment can effect you, you just have to let them know nicely.
