Me!

I had a hot dog, a piece chicken, a little bit of pasta salad. So, so far I was doing well. And then the desserts came out. OH, THE DESSERTS...

I had a couple of cookies, kept breaking pieces off of the monkey bread, a piece of cake (small, but still), and some rice pudding.

I'm pretty sure I blew my calorie budget on tequila alone.  Oops.

Works is gonna suck today.

I was good with my boca burger and lo carb roll with corn

then the desserts hit me too...

1/4 home-made blueberry pie with vanilla ice cream over top. THEN i had this reeses loaded ice cream with some cookie dough ice cream. then some m&m's/starbucks lemon pound cake

:p

I had a ton of calories. I didn't even bother logging them. (It would take TOO long!)  I had only eaten abt. 300 calories by the time dinner rolled around but at dinner I ate a turkey burger, turkey smoked sausage, french fries, 3 servings of cherry delight dessert and a ton of watermelon. It was a lot but I'm hoping that I still ended up breaking even because I ran 3 miles yesterday morning and played tennis for an hour and a half in the afternoon.

Back to the grind today!

I wouldn't say that I blew my diet today, but I definitely overate, even after accounting for the 13 miles that I ran yesterday.

I had an assortment of chips, 1 hot dog, 2 hamburgers, rice, potato salad, 3 chicken legs, 2 chicken breasts, 1 italian sausage, and some skirt steak. And then I had a slice of chocolate cake.

Maybe saying that "I definitely overate" is a gross understatement.

me too! not necessarily the type of food, but portion overload.
#7 odie03 Jul 05 2008 17:51

U making me hungry.

ugh, ... I forgot about dessert. I had a few of the kids oreo cookies.

What will u guys do to make up for it? Exercise today, cut back? Or just go back to norm? I think I'm too hungover to exercise today :)

#8 amilagirl Jul 05 2008 18:39

I overate, too....bbq ribs, all the fixin's, homemade ice cream and birthday cake (it was my son's birthday).  I am just moving on....I went to the gym yesterday morning and worked out before I ate all of this.  Life goes on...I'm back on it today and feel good.

I called a time out for the 4th.  I didn't log yesterday.

Woke up and ate 2 giant cinnamon rolls.  Then, that made me feel sick, since I'm not used to straight carbs and fat like that in the morning, so I had to have my normal cottage cheese, wheat germ and strawberries to calm my stomach.

Then, we went out for Dim Sum lunch.  Ate so many tasty things, I thought my stomach was going to explode.  Dinner was just an Amy's Burrito since I knew we would be eating later.

Went up to Sonoma to see fireworks, and had red wine, champagne, cherries, prosciutto and melon, crackers and brie, cookies, and chips.

It was delightful, I have no regrets.

I didn't get to celebrate yesterday because my husband was at work and all my family was upstate celebrating without me. I've had a stomach ache with some "restroom issues" for three days now, so I didn't eat much. Less than 1200 calories, and that was practically gorging myself. :(

#11 gpm55 Jul 05 2008 19:53

The local BBQ joint here had all you can eat baby back ribs ... went Thursday and came to 2738 cals for the day!  Friday the 4th only ate 1413.  Today I'll probably clock in around 1300.  So in another day or two it will all have averaged out.

Granted, the ribs were high fat ... but I had absolutely no sugary deserts, just a little fresh fruit!

No problem, as long as you manage to get back on the wagon again!

Definitely slipped a little on the 4th of July...ate about 2500 calories yesterday.  Had steak (only ate 3/4's of it), a very small baked potato w/ margarine & lite sour cream, an ear of corn, about 1/4 of a loaf of french bread (this is what really killed me), a salad with bottled dressing that was not lo-cal, grilled eggplant and grilled asparagus.  I completely stayed away from alcohol and dessert...that made it a slip not a fall.

Today, I have cut my calories way back & I'm going to work out after work.  I will put those calories to use on the treadmill.

ONE home smoked ribs-the best I have ever had- one hot dog no bun, a ton of chips and dip, tequila, beer. I just realized I didn't have any dessert and maybe I didn't do too bad in the food either since we went to the beach and played for hours. Then my sister's house is at the top of this huge hill and at the bottom is a pool. So we walked and swam again for a couple more hours and then walked back up the hill. My workouts have really been helping because everyone was huffing and puffing up the hill and I felt like skipping! It was great!

I did. I had less than 200 cals for breakfast and I didn't eat anything else after I got home BUT I had a hot dog, a peice of boneless skinless grilled chicken, corn casserole, baked beans, banana pudding, "dirt" cake, a tiny peice of BBQ ribs. It was wonderful! I didn't have tons of each thing but I did have some of everything!!

I would estimate that I had about 2500 calories yesterday. Today I just got right back on the wagon. I didn't do any EXTRA exercise I just did what I normally do. I've noticed that I'm hungrier today than I usually am when I haven't overeaten. So as a result I've already had the majority of the calories that I normally have in an entire day. Normally at 430 in the afternoon I will have hundreds more calories left for dinner. Today I have maybe 300. It's okay though, I'll have my Boca burger and veggies and it'll be all good.

So no, I'm not going to the gym to try to burn 1000 calories or anything insane like that, I'm just going to jump back on and keep on going. Surely one day will not erase an overall healthy lifestyle. (I hope) :-)

Me too!!  I think I drank most of my extra calories so today I'm bloated and sluggish and don't feel like eating.  Forced myself to eat some breakfast. Got half of it.  Later hubby wanted to stop at his favorite Vietnamese restaurant. Ended up eating only half of that. Now 5 hours later, I finished the breakfast and the VN.  Got to get the water flowing again too.

No guilt. I'm glad I did it. Now I have no desire to do that for a while!

#16 lilithinwaiting Jul 05 2008 22:01

I blew it all week long but didn't do bad for the 4th. I ate a hamburger, a polish sausage without bread.  a small amt. of potato salad and drank water.

I don't drink so alcohol is never a problem, I hate the smell of it.

#17 mykanosdelight Jul 06 2008 01:57

I didn't do tooooooo bad.  I had chicken and vegetable stir fry and a potato.  About 4 cocktails and a Starbucks lowfat Frappucinno bar.

#18 sharz96 Jul 06 2008 02:03

I didn't.

I had two treats (cornbread and half a brownie) but I also had a very active day -- 3 mile run in the AM and kayacking in the afternoon.  Way more than made up for it.

Same with today.  I had a flame-broiled cheeseburger, but it was well within my calories for an active day (bike-riding).  It did kill my fat % for the day, though.  I had quite a bit of regular dairy (2% milk, string cheese, cottage cheese, cheese on the burger) and then with hamburger, and I had 40% fat for the day.  Ouch.  Oh, well.  It's just one day.  I'll be back to my usual 25% tomorrow.

Me me me~! I went over by nearly 900 calories. XD (And I sat on my butt all freakin' day.)

I had the usual foods during t he day: cereal, bread, sardines, canned spinach.. At night we had Pennette. Now instead of having just one serving of this yummy pasta covered in spaghetti sauce, I had two, which made me go over my daily calorie "limit" by ehh. 200 or so calories. Not bad, right? Then my mom wanted to celebrate the 4th in style.. By going to Dairy Queen! And instead of being a good girl, I decided to get a 750 calorie (Reese's) blizzard that turned out to be "okay" and defiantly not worth the calories.

2450 calories or so.

It was okay though, because it broke my plateau, and I *finally* lost a pound after two weeks of doing awesome with my diet and butt-kicking exercise.

Apparently my body needed that KAPOW! of calories to let it know there was enough food for it and there was no need to hold onto the extra food that was coming in, and also to get a little break to my sore muscles that.. I practically never give a break to because I always have the impulse to exercise when I tell myself I'm going to take a break. @_@ So today I ate a normal amount of calories, did a normal amount of exercise, and I'm feeling very content with myself.

:D

sounds like most of you guys did great! i mean, ~2500cals is pretty great considering that it's a really special occasion, i bet you had fun with all your relatives, the food and company and spirit was probably fantastic, and you ate just about what normal non-CCing people ate a day to maintain their weight! (:
