Strength training programs sintia
  Jul 04 2008 04:19
Hi everyone,

I just wanted to share this info that i found about strength training exercises for women:

 www.strength-training-women.com

The good thing is the info is right there with pictures, no need to become a member and all that bla bla..

Does anyone know of a website where i could get the same kind of info but for men?

I am trying to put in place some exercise info for our fitness room in our hotel but cant find a good one for men.

Thanks in advance

I just checked out this site.  Great resource; thanks for sharing!

Well, some of the articles were good, some of them looks like they were written by a computer throwing words together at random; the site exists mostly an excuse to show you Google and Amazon ads and doesn't appear to have an editor who cares about site quality. The latter part is the problem though - most sites need to have some form of ads to pay the bills. It's the terrible quality of some of the articles that concern me.

In addition, it keeps perpetuating the "men build muscle, women tone" falsehood of the Shape and Cosmo fitness misinformation writers by consistently using "tone" in place of "strength train" - men and women have the same skeletal muscle structure and should train the exact same way (barring postural problems and form modifications on some exercises on account of slightly different pelvic structures and Q-angles) and I'm not happy with any fitness professional who doesn't do their share to fight back against the terrible disservice the Pink Dumbbell Brigade are doing to women.

Meh. My preferred resource for women's training is still exercise.about.com, Stumptuous.com and exrx.net - the exact same resources I recommend to men :)

a very deep and heartfelt thank you to melkor for his understanding that strength training programs, exercises, form reccommendations, etc are the same for men and women.  women won't have the same results as men bec their muscles don't have the same testosterone levels.  but we all do the same exercises.
