I feel a cheat day coming on! caverlady
  Jul 03 2008 15:39

We have a wedding to attend on Saturday and the reception is a dinner/dance at the local Holiday Inn which has a great restuarant!  I'm sure the dinner will be terrific, so I'm going to call it an official cheat day and eat what I want within reason of course.  Maybe I can get an extra work-out in to offset some of those calories.

Indeed!  I also have a wedding to attend on Saturday - and the pre-wedding party tomorrow, and the post-wedding brunch on Sunday.  I say, enjoy!  And work out extra hard before and afterwards.

YOU GO GIRL!!!  Laughing

You SO deserve a night out and to enjoy yourself!  You know what I find??  The occasional cheat day actually gives my metabolism a boost.....drink TONS of water the next day to help flush out the extra sodium!!!

I have 2 cheat days.  Tonight I have a little league playoff softball game and afterwards it's beer/wings at a local sports pub.  Then, on Saturday, it's my cousin's annual pig roast!  I'm actually really looking forward to this night because last year at this time I was 250+ lbs and now i'm under 150.  I'm hoping to shock a few ppl with my new look.

I'm not even going to bother weighing myself until next week at least.

Enjoy yourself hun!

I have the same situation next saturday and i've been dreading it because I've been known to have a cheat day and then it ALL goes down hill days and days later; like i can't recover from one measly night of eating too much. I have to try and mentally prepare to have a nice night, eat in moderation though not worry about counting and get right back on the horse the next day!

I have found the best way to "get back on the horse" is to plan ahead of time what I'm going to eat the following day -- I do this every year for Thanksgiving and it really helps me get back on track.  If you really need reinforcements, plan a week of meals ahead of time -- it's easier to just execute the plan than to make good choices when you're in post bender haze.  Oh, and exercise first thing the next morning to set the stage for getting back in the saddle.

This weekend is going to be a "cheat weekend" for me, mainly because I won't have control over what I'm eating and I won't have access to a computer.  I'm going to a horse show with a woman who pays me to show her horses, and she's planning on ordering food for lunch and dinner, so I'll have control over what I snack on, but not really for actual meals.

My question is, when you know you're going to give yourself a cheat night/day/weekend, do you still try and log everything afterwards, or do you just say screw it and leave your log blank? :)

Go ahead!

I do this once every week or two. A day I can eat whatever I want and how much I want to.

I have noticed that, the junk food I use to enjoy enjoy so much before, doesn't taste nearly as good anymore. In some cases, I am finding out, that I don't like them anymore. So, I found that this is really good to do (for me), because it has stopped me from craving those items when walking past them in the grocery store and convenience stores.

I don't think I'm going to bother to try and log things in tomorrow.  It would mostly be estimates anyway since I won't be preparing the food, so I figure why bother with it?

Have a great time, being that it's a wedding maybe you can burn some of those calories when you dance. The best part about that is that you have fun while burning. ENJOY!Laughing
