Hey! This is my first time back on the YCC in a while, but I'd love to create an accountability group for people who are >10 pounds from their goal. We can have exercise challenges too! Is anyone interested? Just post your stats.

*EDIT* Sorry, I'm not quite a teen... but I'm just barely out of the range, if that's ok ;) Hopefully, I won't be "Almost there" for too much longer!
Hey, I'll join too, I love these things :)

ugh i'm so close, it's killlling me, these last few pounds are the toughest but i'm determined to be at 110 by the 26th
Hey everyone, and thanks for your interest! ^^ So far, here is our groupie:
okgo (Okie)
hharis9 (Heather)
runnabe15
mattywright (Matt)
lafoutloud01 (Lea)
fallingupstairs (Erin)
And for all of you who are just out of the range, of course that's fine. :) These last few pounds are always the hardest, but I know that we can get through them together!
And now for our first order of business: who's up for an exercise challenge? We can see who can get "x" minutes of any type of exercise in this coming week, starting Sunday! Who's up for it, and how many minutes should be the goal?
xoxoxo Okie
I'm totally up for it! I don't know what a good goal is, I guess like 500? Is that reasonable?
I'm in, but just until July 15th, when I go on vacation.
HT: 5'4"
CW: 141.5
GW: 130 (but before vacation, 139)
Age: 15
Excersize plan: Walking pretty much every day for about 30 minutes; cardio and calisthenics four or five times a week; and once a week I mow a lawn which takes me about two hours.
I would say 420 minutes a week is a little more reasonable... that evens out to an hour a day. What say everyone else?
HT: 5'5"
CW: 124.5
GW: 120
Age: 16
Exercise plan: cardio for 30 mins a day almost everyday, strength training once or twice a week, biking for 30 mins whenever I can
I'm down for any sort of goal.
500 does sound a tad out of range for me... but anyway, of what exercise are we also shootin' for?
Hey again everyone! Thanks for joining guys. :) New people added to our member list:

Now it's time to set our goals! Perhaps instead of creating a set time limit, like 400 minutes, we could just see who can exercise for the most minutes? That way there will be more competition and you won't just bunk out if you happen to hit the goal. Or we could do a limit; whichever one you guys would prefer. But remember, it starts tomorrow! :)
xoxoxo Okie
I like the idea of a competition! the winner should go treat themselves to something they want - not that we can moniter it or anything, but whoever it is should feel good about themselves and buy a new work out top or something :)
Okie dokie! So as of now, we will have an:
EXERCISE COMPETITION WEEK OF JULY 6-JULY 12
Tomorrow is the first day to exercise, and Saturday is the last day. Try to get:
AS MANY MINUTES OF EXERCISE AS YOU CAN
Things that count as exercise are things that you do for the point of exercise; I would not consider walking around the mall exercise. I would, however, consider a leisurely swim exercise. I guess it's up to your discretion, but good luck, everyone! Winner gets to treat themselves to anything not edible! ;)
xoxoxo Okie
Ok! Sunday was my rest day but today I did 40 minutes on the elliptical trainer and later tonight I will take a 60 minute class called body circuits.
That will be my first 100 minutes!
Wow, great job! Yeah, I'm not sure how much I will be able to get done this week, because I have a horrible cold and it makes it difficult to breathe while exercising... :( But most of my exercise for the week will probably be light swimming or jogs. Keep it up! :D
Hey! Sorry i've been MIA for a few days - out of town for the 4th! I'm positive I've gained a little over the weekend, but I've been doing a lot of running around, spinning my colorguard rifle when I'm bored, and chasing little kids! (I'm not actually in colorguard anymore - I did it in highschool and its a great way to just mindlessly work on my arms... i'd venture a guess that I spun for a few hours this weekend at least, though I won't count that.)
I'm aiming for 250min of formal exercise this week, and then whatever else I can do around the house. I usually run my exercise count wed->tuesday, but I'll just keep a spreadsheet so that I can divide it up however I like :)
Also, maybe because I'm a righty and I tend to spin more with my right hand, I've noticed that my left bicep is significantly less firm than my right. I'm going to try and work more on that one now! hehe. I don't want to be half popeye... GL everyone!
Well on Sunday I did 30 minutes of weights, and on Monday I did 70 minutes of cardio............. I plan to do another 30-60 minutes of cardio today.... I hope you feel better okgo! :) And goodluck with that left bicep hharris9! lmao
Haha Heather, at least you know that all that spinning is paying off! :) Good luck!
And awesome job, illingal! It makes working out so much easier when you stick to a schedule! :) And thanks, my cold has almost worn off now because I stopped swimming for a day; apparently swimming makes colds worse. Who knew? Haha.
Keep up the great work, guys!
xoxoxo Okie
Hehe, thanks guys =P I went out and spun some last night. I do sets of: 60-50-40-30-20-10 spins, alternating each arm before I move down in count. I'll just up it and start with 70 next week =) I'm trying to build them evenly... I find that that I'm really challenging my left arm, but its allowing me to maintain my right, so maybe that's a good way to do it?
Lol, I keep imagining myself with one Donkey Kong arm... XD That's good motivation to really push hard with that lefty!
I've been horrrrrrible about getting to the gym. I was out of town last Thurs-Sun, and I started TTOM yesterday, so the cramping has kept me from going the last few days (Sorry, that may be TMI!) Anyway, I'm going to suck it up and go tonight - I can't afford to let my body fall off the wagon. I've been doing lots of informal spinning and some crunches here and there... I just need to go and really work hard! :)
CW: 128.5lbs
GW: 125.0lbs
The goal is to hit 125 by August 1st! I'll be sooo immensely happy if I can manage that! :D It can't be that hard, right? 3.5 measely pounds.. I fluctuate that much on a normal day! ;)
Alrighty, guys! It's time for our minute count! I'm going to disqualify myself because I did practically no exercise this week, so I decided to just count my "activity" minutes. So this minute count may seem high (or it may seem immensely low, I don't know), but it's because I logged things like swimming for fun, which I do for at least half an hour most days. My count is: 435 minutes. If anyone would like to see the log, drop me a message. :) But again, I am disqualifying myself from the competition! How was you guys' exercising?
Mine is quite high I think :)
I got 750. I've taken a class at the gym almost daily AND have done about an hour of cardio daily, so I'm pretty proud :)
