20 yr. old female looking for support buddy

Quote  |  Reply
Hi,

I'm 20 years old, 5'5" and 150lbs.

I want to get back to my old weight of 120 lbs.

I think I really need someone to buddy up with because doing it on my own hasn't worked these last few times I've tried, and doing it with a friend doesn't work because none of them have my stats and so it's hard to feel like we're making the same type of progress. I'm definatly an emotional eater, whenever I get stressed out I binge eat and give up on my exercise goals. Someone who shares these issues would be great to talk to.

I'd prefer to exchange MSN/email details since I'm not very comfortable with public forums like this.

Cheers!

Hey!

I too am 20, 5'4'' and 145 lbs. I recently got weighed at the doctor's and practically fell off the scale in shock. About ten months ago I weighed 120. Last year was really crazy and stressful and I found myself trying to avoid problems and difficult situations by eating. I am fed up with how I feel and about my low self esteem. It's also not very helpful that most of my friends think I look "fine". I hide the weight well, but this is not who I used to be! It would be nice to have someone to do it with. Good luck!

Just wanted to tell you both good luck and that CC really will do wonders for you :)

I'm 20yrs old, 5'5'' and started at 150+lbs on CC. I'm down to 129.5 now and in more muscular, healthy shape, with a final goal of 125 and being "FIT!" *crosses fingers*. I know that its really hard, especially at the beginning, but if you are really committed and you push yourself, the weight WILL come off. Its taken me 5 months so far, but its incredibly worth it.

Just a tip - a cool thing to do (I did it around 140, but wish I had when I'd started so I could see how much I've changed...) is to take your measurements. Legs, arms, butt, chest, and tummy. That way, if you're exercising too, you can see how much size you've lost (since muscle is heavier than fat, it doesn't always show up on a scale).

If either of you ever need any help or support, please feel free to message me on here. Good luck to both of you!!! :)

If its any motivation, I was in a size 10/11 at 150. Now I'm down to a 4/5. I used to cry in dressing rooms... not anymore :)

*EDIT*

I should add that I tried about a MILLION diets before CC, and even when I joined, I didn't truly believe I'd ever see 130 again, much less the 120's! CC really got me excited about logging on and cashing out my calories each day :P I almost made a game of it!

hey there! im 20 too! turning 21 in mid august, and ive gained weight since being back from school, but i excercise every day, its just that i eat masssive amounts! i need support to stop binging at night!! id love to help each other!

yeah, wicked!  I'm not sure how CC works quite yet, but I did find this forum, so kudos to that.  But I'm 5'4 and 146 and I'm trying to get to 125.  I dunno how it's going to happen, but then, hopefully I'll have some support here?

I'm having a hard time sticking with the CC just because I find it tedious to input all my foods...I guess the trick is to plan what you eat based on how simple it is to input them?!

I dunno... I just find that when I make say, a stir fry, I don't feel like measuring out exactly how many grams of green peppers I put in etc, so then I don't end up calculating it and I jsut kind of guesstimate?

You can make a reasonable guesstimate for a stirfry.  A few extra veggies isn't going to cause any problems, but you'll want to measure the oil you use and also have a good approximation on the meat and any noodles or starches.

Hey, our stats are basically the same. I'll be 20 next month, I'm 5'5", and I currently weigh 154. I also deal with some of the problems you mentioned. If you are still looking for a weight-loss buddy message me here and we can set something up!
