how i maintain

Quote  |  Reply

i eat only fruits, vegetables, fish, and whole wheat(brown rice or pure wheat/bran cereals). make sure theres nothing else in the ingriedients. and no splenda! it has to be completely raw. i started off telling myself i would eat junkfood one day a month(i'd make a date and keep it that date every month) but after the first month i didn't feel like i needed to cheat so i just continue with no junkfood! yay. but just letting everyone know this it how i stay healthy. the only thing i kinda cheat with is light soymilk =). i aim to drink at least 8 cups of water a day and i take vitamins everyday its called doctors ultamite eye and body formula(has pretty much everything in it so i don't need like 50 bottles!), i lost 5 pounds since i've been doing this. good luck to everyone!

oh and i don't eat about 4 hours before i goto bed. it probably won't affect your weight overall but you'll weigh less in the morning with an empty stomach lol and you'll be hungry for breakfast

Just FYI, this is way more extreme than people actually need to be in order to reach and maintain a healthy weight.

whatever i was trying to  be nice

I think It's awesome and true, This the easiest way to maintain for me also.

I don't eat for about 4 hours before bed either, and if I do it'll be really light stuff. I just don't see the point, if food is for energy. I tend to get my calories earlier on in the day.

What the?

It certainly doesn't sound like maintenance if you've lost 5 pounds.

I reckon I'd lose another 20 pounds if I were to eat like that!

Good on you though if you feel it works for you.  As someone else said, not everyone has to go to those extremes.

what i only eat (not all in one day, but generally the foods ill only eat) are grilled turkey, whole grain bread, skim milk, total cereal, peanut butter, protein shake, protein bars, strawberries, bananas, oatmeal, (splenda for sweetness in oatmeal), boiled potatoes, boiled egg whites, mozz cheese (made with skim milk), and non-fat yogurt.

eating this, along with exercising for an hour everyday, for the past 4 months has caused me to gain muscle and lose 4 lbs.

im not losing anymore, but i am still SLOOWWLLYY gaining muscle.

so, what u have broadbasted2 sounds good.

like you, i should be drinking more water too.

hi, i'm trying to maintain to prevent mysellf from getting too skinny, but i'm now scared of getting bigger... can u indulge evry now and again i.e halfa slice of cake and still stay the same weight even if i exercise 5 times a week ? or do i need to eat as healthy as you suggest 24/7?

Skskingston, half a slice of cake never made anybody gain weight! :)  It takes 3500 excess calories to gain a pound, and half a slice of cake could only be a couple hundred calories at most.  Feel free to indulge every once in a while, it's good for your mind!  Things like half a slice of cake, low fat ice cream or frozen yogurt seem like very sensible indulgences to me.

of course you can indulge! only on occasion though, or in moderation. i just eat like  this cause after a few weeks or a month junk food doesn't even seem appealing anymore.
