Hey moolah,

I am 5'5" and weigh 207 lbs.  Of course, I am 25, but I would like to loose about 40 lbs.  I was just telling myself that trying to lose weight alone is more difficult and that I need to find a buddy to keep me motivated.  I am up for it.

Hello there Mia!

Yea I have been up here on CC for about a month but did not find any buddies. Finally i thought lets do it to keep myself and others motivated.

So how did you begin Mia? When did the alarm went off telling you that you need to lose weight?

As far as i am concerned, i always knew i had a problem with my weight. But never paid attention to it. I finally got fed up when i went to the Navy's recruiter telling him i want to join military and he just smiled lol. Of course he was trying to tell me i need to loose that fat! So here i am now... I started off with about 224 lbs, Mid april and lost about 20 pounds so far. I am eating about 1200-1500 cals a day. But somedays i go off the track and even eat more than 2000!(like tonightFrown). But i wont give up! After all i have to reach my goal of 160 lbs by november somehow so that i can join military!

Whats your plan?

Hey Moolah,

I begin on yesterday.  I had always been a member of CC checking label infomation.  I was at 199 at the beginning of June, and had surgery.  Immediately after (the next day).  I was at 210 :)  My body does not like to be cut on.  Two and a half weeks later I am at 206.  So I am still waiting for my body to readjust, and on top of that I am on activity restriction, so I can not exercise like I am use to.  So for now, I am watching what I eat, and while eventually I would like to lose about 40 lbs, I am starting with the 7 to get to a mini goal of 199 (again).

Hi Moolah!

I am 23 (almost 24 now) I'm 5ft 4, and I was about 205lbs when I got to my biggest (I was 15). Then I went down to 160 and stayed there until I was about 16. I went down to 133 until I was 18 (lotta drugs in high school). Then I went up to 150 by 19, then 170 by 20, and well, ever since then I have slowly lost about 10lbs a year. I now float between 135-140. I am smaller now than I was when I was 13 (wore a size 5 jeans and they were skin tight... now I'm in a skin tight 4) and I weight about 20lbs more! I guess just muscle mass now :)

How I lost the weight from 170 was gradual life changes. First I quit smoking, and quit drinking soda. Then I quit eating fast food. Then I cut out all sweets for one month. Then I said it was ok to sweets every now and again (even though I didn't want them anymore really) and I changed it to no pasta, no rice. Then I made sure I ate at least one salad per day. etc, etc. I just narrowed down things slowly.

Now I just started up the gym about 7 months ago. I have really toned up. I used to have a pretty high body fat, and lotsa cellulite on my thighs and my stomach looked wretched. In fact I never even looked at myself nakey really! lol! Now it's awesome... I inspire a lot of people and I really have an amazing willpower with just about everything :).

If you ever need support or help with starting small goals for life changes (not just losing weight but making a gradual health change in general) let me know and I'll be glad to help, listen, or tell you what I did that worked for me & maybe it might work for you...

Just remember that the key to being losing weight is losing it slow and making changes for life :) Good luck Moolah!!!

Bonjour! I'm 23 5'3 and 190lbs. I have a lot of muscle mass. So my body weight can be deceiving. I had dropped from 210lbs to 150lbs about three years ago, from then I have slowly started gaining it back. I definitely need to put a stop to it. It seems that obesity runs in the family, I want to be the one to stop that trend!!

Hi there!

I am 5'6 and 219 pounds.  I am 22 turning 23 in Aug.  I would love to hear about your stories and tips to get me going! I am so worried about my weight and being so unhealthy.  I've tired alot of things, nothing really works.  I was about 165 in the begining of last year.  I am happy at that weight.  I was in a car accident last summer and gained weight fast since I was off my leg for quite awhile. I have strech marks! I want to get back to 165.  Any tips?

Hey Shebavpg,

My only advice is for you to find something you can live with as far as dieting goes. Since you are so overweight the first 20lbs should come off fairly easily... it's the last 10-15 that will hurt! lol! But honestly, you're at the "easy" part. Just find a diet that you can live with (either low-fat, low-cals, high protien, all-natural, vegetarian, etc) and then just stick with it for 6 wks. At the end of the 6 wks evaluate your weight loss... hopefully you will have lost 10lbs. If you have, then you are one the right track. If not, then switch it up. Over the course of 6 mos hopefully you will have lost about 20lbs or so and then you can really start kickin @$$ and join a gym and get toned up :).

Good luck and if you ever need tips or support let me know! We're all in this togther! :D
