I'm 16 years old, 5'6, and currently about 126 lbs. I've been a dancer all my life up until about 2 years ago. During that same time I began at a highschool which I hated and my mother got really sick. As a result I went from being a healthy 5'6 and 105 lbs of muscle to about 136 lbs in a year (I continued to eat like a dancer- unhealthy monstrous portions). I managed to lose a good ten pounds last year, yet I've suffered from depression and as a result have turned to binging. Well, as of next fall I'm transfering to a new highschool where all of my friends go and picking up dance again! Hopefully this will help me find myself again and go back to being the happy person I once was. I have a goal of hitting 110 lbs by the beginning of October- and in order to kick my binging habit and keep me motivated, it would be really helpful if I had a budddy! Anybody with me?
Hellooo! I am also 5'6 and I am around 125 lbs., and I want to get to around 110lbs by fall!! =] Only difference is that I'm only 14 years old. But anyways, that's really cool that you are into dancing. I seriously wish that I could dance, lol. I mostly play soccer, and snowboard/ski in the winter. So...yah.. I'll be your buddy if you want! ^^

I'll be a buddy too! Haha, but I'm a bit shorter than you guys. I'm 5'4 and about 123 lbs. I'm trying to get down to 110 by the time school starts. Oh, and I'm 14 too.
Ah, you guys both seem pretty athletic. lol. I'm in between sports right now. I got bored of swimming but can't think of anything else to do, so I'm probably going to go back soon. It seems like I've retained all the muscle though...just added a bit of fat on top of it >.>

hey i'm 5' 6 too and weigh about 140 but want to get down to 125ish by the start of college in the fall.

i have been losing motivation lately when it comes to exercise, so i want to get back to running and stuff
wow i kept looking for someone with a similar weight goal, im 5'5 and weigh 125 or so. i want to get to 114 or close. i know how to eat right and exercise but dont always follow my own advice. i really want to do this for myself to get healthy overall and feel good about myself. i use to be a dancer/gymnast/ice skater/diver and hmm what happened i got injured of course. i use to love how i looked and i still do but could use improvement around the edges. im 17 and starting college in the fall.
if i had someone to work with it would make it easier for both of us!
Wow! I honestly wasn't expecting so many replies! I'm definitely up for having a motivational buddy group here! I was thinking of weighing and measuring myself this Friday.. is anybody else up for it? p.s i did my first dance class in 2 years, it felt SO good. I'm so motivated right now to do this! Alright I think we should share some of our tips:
I setout goals for myself everyday.. like i need to drink 3 litres of water, I need to eat at least 1600 calories, more if I am active, and I need to get at least 30 minutes of exercise! Plus my motivation is every 5 lbs lost I'll give myself a reward!
5 lbs = buy a new book (haha i love reading)
10 lbs = manicure/pedicure
15 lbs = buy some new jeans
How about you guys, how do you keep yourselves motivated!?
p.s I'm not usually on this website, let alone even awake at this time haha but those dance classes gave me so much energy. Oh man I'm going to be sooo sore tomorrow, I can feel it .
I know that we can do this if we keep eachother motivated =)

Right now, my weight goals are 5 lbs. per month, so by the time summer's over, it'll be gone! :D
I'm trying to get about 1400-1500 cals., drink 6-8 cups of water, and hopefully getting back into swimming soon. Haha, I'm thinking about trying the reward thing, but I don't know what to get myself. buuuuut....this is what I'm thinking for now:
5lbs: can't think of anything for five pounds. hehe. you guys want to help me?
10lbs: actually wear shorts (man, i hate my legs >.>) and maybe get a new pair.
15lbs: new jeans (haha. me too. mine have like a ton of holes in them, and hopefully they'll be too loose xD)

I *try* to get 1200-1500 calories and eat healthy foods. I also want to lose about 5 pounds per month. =D As for my rewards...

I'm 5'6", 131, and 17 yrs old - started at 140. Trying to get to 110-115lb ish, and hopefully before winter quarter of college.
I've found I'm really bad at actually meeting my goals without motivation.
5 lbs = $20 spending spree at a thrift store (I love thrift stores lol)
10 lbs = I'll be getting this one pair of heels I've wanted from Debs for a long time
15 lbs = manicure/pedicure (never had either)
and when I reach 110, I'm getting skinny jeans (wanted to wear them forEVER) and my first tattoo.
*does a happy dance* I can't wait.

I am in SO much pain. I just had dance for the last 2 nights and oh maan i am soo out of shape haha. I feel soooo good right now though! How bout you guys? What are you doing for exercize?
Btw, thanks meep! & for motivation i just look at old pictures of myself when I was really happy with my body. I also have a bunch of old and some new clothes( like a year old) that I really like but are a size or so too small or don't fit me good & I think I'm going to pick a target outfit or something and just try it on every 2 weeks or every month or something.
I'm so excited just to lose the first 5 pounds. 5 lbs that I hope I never see ever again!
ok so I weighed myself this morning & im 127 lbs. At first I was confused, but then I thought about it ... and last time I weighed myself which was after my last binge... on Saturday.. I was 128. Plus I've been soo bloated this week... is it maybe my muscles retaining water? I did my measurements as well... and i got:
Chest: 33.5 inches
Waist (at my belly button.. so pretty low): 29 inches
Hips: 38 inches ( oooh man ahaha)
I don't know if i measured my waist at the right part... like it wasnt at the smallest part of my body.. but I'll just keep measuring there anyways.
My Goals are to eventually get my hips down to maybe 35 inches? and i think that 26 inches would be good for my waist.
Alright, so right now I'm 126, but I just ate (lotsa fruit) so in actuality I'm probably somewhere around 124.5/125. I haven't measured everywhere else in a while, but I'm probably the same as before

I'm heather. I'm seventeen and i'm 5'5ish [ I dont know if I am 5'5 or 5'6 or in between ] I am currently as today 124.4. My small goal is 120, and my big goal is 115. I would like to be 110 but I think that might be TOO low.
I need some people that are my age. I want to be skinny, I mean I do think that some thick girls look good, but I dont want to look thick. People at my school keep giving me chocolate trying to fatten me up. Its like dude you dont know what is under this uniform. I know that I am skinny, just not where I want to be. I wouldnt mind getting a 6 pack; that would take lots of work though :] I just aint happy yet, and I cant talk to people at school because if I say anything about losing weight or getting skinnier; they get mad at me =/
but i want to get (actually, NEEED to get) back to 125 by september! i'm starting high school in the fall!

I'm 14, 5'3 (yes, I'm pretty short) and want to lose about 10 - 15 pounds, I suppose. I gained loads of weight when I ripped the tendons on the back of my legs running, and after that I had to stay sedentary for ages - I don't know how I gained so fast! Now I can exercise again (I do horseriding, swimming, running, aerobics, athletics and tennis - a bit OTT I know) but I really would like some support. My motivation at the moment is that every 5 pounds I get a (non-food) reward, like clothes or music etc.. What do you guys do for motivation??
Our goals seem to be pretty close. I'm 17 (just turned it) and I would like to lose about 11 pounds in the next 3 months.

I am 16 and about 5'7" and fluctuate around 141 pounds. Last summer i went to europe and came and weighed myself---166 pounds!!! I had put on weight from all of the eating, being dehydrated and from pigging out during the school year. I started restricting my calories and watching what i ate. That, along with my distance running, caused me to drop down to around 137 from sept 07 to feb 08. I think i gained a little back from not being as restrictive with my calories, but i would like to lose more.
I do cross country and distance in track. I am currently doing my summer training, and trying to run about 4 miles a day, 5-6 days a week. Which is roughly 440 calories per day. My goal is to consume 1350-1600 calories a day, and hopefully be around 120-125 by august when school starts!!!
So here are my stats:

Current weight--142
Goal weight--125
Measurements: 36-26-37
I would love to offer/recieve any motivation!!! I'm new to using this regularly and talking to people, so any tips or advice is more than welcome!!! OH!! and here is a recipe i found on here for an absolutely DELICIOUS banana milkshake, only 128 calories!!!
***Healthy low fat, low cal alternative to fastfood shakes. Tastes ten times better!
Your tags - banana milkshake
Ingredients
1/2
banana, sliced
6
oz skim milk
1
tsp vanilla extract
1
tsp cinnamon
1/3
cup ice, crushed
Directions
- Chop half a banana into slices, place in plastic baggy and freeze overnight. (Do the same with the other half and save for future shake. Trust me, there will be a future shake.)
- Gather ingredients.
- Place half banana (now chopped and frozen) into blender. Add 1/3 cup ice, 6 ounces of skim milk and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract. Blend until smooth.
- (Optional: Add 1 packet of Splenda for extra sweetness)
- Pour mix into tall glass. Sprinkle about 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon on shake.
- Drink it. God loves you and this is proof.
Hey everybody! I love all of this input!! The more motivation, the better!
Ok, so I've been upping my protein quite a bit.. like I'm making sure to get at least 90grams everyday because I'm trying to build muscle. I've noticed that protein rich foods really keep me full. An example of what I eat would be
Breakfast- 2 poached eggs (I like the yolk reeeeallly runny) on a whole wheat english muffin with some sort of fruit like strawberries
Snack- an apple ( I have 1 apple everyday)
Lunch - a sandwich with 2 slices country harvest 12 grain bread and tuna and avocado mixed (sooo good) or with turkey slices and tomato
Snack- cottage cheese with some veggies or plain organic yogurt with some kashi golean cereal
Dinner- a lot of nights I will have chicken breast with sweet potato and steamed cauliflower and broccoli, or whatever my family is having... whole wheat pasta, etc.
Snack - kashi peanut butter granola bar (7 grams of protein and all natural) with a cup of skim milk
btw, wallcow that milkshake looks sooo good.. i love bananas! I'll definitely be trying it. So what do some of your meal plans look like? Maybe if we post them, it will give us some good ideas!
I'm really loving this- I can physically see and feel a difference in my body & I've decided to start up a bit of weight lifting along with dancing, yoga, and some running in order to really tone up!
Weigh-ins are coming up! I hope we all see some progress!
Question---how often are we doing weigh-ins??? are they on mondays? and if so do we just want weights or measurements as well??
Weigh ins are actually on Fridays .. and you can include measurements if yoou want . its up to you
